The Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Teaching is designed for students intending to pursue a career in teaching theatre at the elementary, middle school, or high school level. This degree also prepares students to pursue an advanced degree in education. At its core, the BA in Theatre Teaching provides well-rounded theatrical training mixed with superior education courses. In this degree, students take 45 hours in theatre-specific courses, including acting, directing, and design. They also take 30 hours in education courses designed to sharpen their pedagogy skills. Additionally, there are numerous mainstage opportunities in our five productions each year along with scene work, student films, and Nashville professional opportunities. All students complete student teaching at an area school before graduation.

In our studio art program, you’ll be exposed to mediums such as painting, drawing, sculpture, videography, and printmaking. With a wide range of artistic knowledge, you’ll be prepared to influence and better the world through art.

Gain 24/7 access to our studios, meet with exhibiting artists in our on-campus John C. If you choose the teaching route, you will be prepared in the areas of classroom management and intercultural competence along with literature, writing, cultural studies and communication core studies. The coursework in the English Teaching program is designed to provide you with foundational literary and educational concepts, practical field experience, and a broad understanding of textual genres, historical periods, composition/rhetoric, and the cultural significance of relevant writers and their texts. The program also allows you to learn from on-site teachers in a diverse range of public and private schools in the Nashville area. The specific content areas for literature include surveys of American, British, and world literatures as well as more narrowly focused seminars, which prepare you for the required content you will be teaching.

We've been doing experiential learning in the sciences since before it was cool. And with guidance from our expert faculty, you'll take advantage of rich opportunities to investigate the basis for life. We will help you prepare for a career in the life sciences: think clinical or biomedical research, or other graduate programs in the allied health professions. You'll face challenges in this program as you learn the cellular mechanisms underlying human physiology, genetics and disease.  You won't be alone. Environmental Chemistry Emphasis (Chemistry major - applied)
Choose the environmental chemistry emphasis and you’ll have excellent preparation for becoming an environmental laboratory professional.

The mission of the Exercise Science Program is to prepare entry-level Exercise Science professionals in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills) and affective (behavior) learning domains by integrating Christian faith and practice with academic excellence.  The Program will provide students with the didactic and experiential foundation in the study of human physiology and movement necessary to succeed whether pursuing a career, a professional field of study or engaging in advanced academic work. This mission is achieved through classroom lectures and hands-on laboratory instruction, scholarship, and service-learning opportunities designed to promote and develop critical thinking and effective communication skills.
