Applied
The more mathematics an engineering, science, computer science or business student takes, the more jobs openings and graduate school openings are available to that student. The applied mathematics degree is an especially good choice for a double major for students who are already required to have a minor in mathematics, such as engineering and computer science majors. It also qualifies business students to work as an actuary.

Professional Chemistry
Want to be a chemist? This path is for you. You'll go beyond the basic principles of chemistry, learning the complex fields of organic, inorganic, physical and analytical chemistry. Plus, you'll have special courses designed for research and intensive specialized and integrated labs.

You're passionate about ministry, so learn from devoted theologians who will train you to step into Kingdom service, wherever God calls you. Forensic Science Emphasis (Chemistry major - applied)
You'll be well connected to alumni in the field of forensic sciences. What we teach will qualify you to work in a crime laboratory, or get a job in drug testing. Let us ready you to be a middle or high school teacher. As a biology teaching major, you'll get to network during clinical practice classes, which will set you up for employment by graduation. You'll have the chance to go to the Tennessee Science Teachers Association meeting or the National Science Teachers Association meeting. You'll get to learn about teaching ideas, influential research and network with other science teachers from across the U.S.

Prepare to make a difference as an effective, ethical financier. Our experienced faculty will guide and grow you. You'll have opportunities for experiential learning, including managerial finance, international economics, portfolio management. In our Financial Markets Lab, you'll learn to use Bloomberg Terminals to analyze financial data and metrics. You'll even have a keycard to access the lab at any time.

You'll have internship and study abroad opportunities. You'll be part of the Lipscomb team that competes against other universities in the TVA Investment Challenge. You and your team will manage a portfolio of securities on TVA's behalf. Each team competing will be responsible for security selection, portfolio balancing and other fund management decisions. With rigorous and relevant curriculum, chances for hands-on learning and real-life experience, you'll have the foundation you need to thrive.
