The mathematics department at Lipscomb University prepares you to be an excellent teacher who is both mathematically sound and pedagogically proficient. We will help you prepare for a career in the life sciences: think clinical or biomedical research, or other graduate programs in the allied health professions. You'll face challenges in this program as you learn the cellular mechanisms underlying human physiology, genetics and disease.  You won't be alone. Now more than ever, there is a need for professionals who are just, wherever they may be.  We know you want to change the world. So we've created a program to help you build a foundation in justice so you can do exactly that. We know legal change is one of the best ways to effect social change, so we'll make sure you gain a strong understanding of America's legal system. Work with a prominent civil rights attorney in Tuskegee, Alabama. You'll visit Washington, D.C. for an introduction of American law. Learn from real-life experiences with an internship. Take a semester abroad. And later, you'll even travel to five European countries as you learn about law in the global community.

Whether it's your love for theatre, professional ambition, or calling to teach that has brought you here, we will guide you into becoming a well-rounded theatre practitioner committed to artistic and academic excellence. After all, our world needs smart, innovative artists. We start with foundational instruction on all theatrical aspects that streamline into more specific courses each year. You'll take part in departmental productions and in the local Nashville theatre scene. Our professional faculty will connect you to outside opportunities. You'll build community in our tight-knit department, where support from the relationships you gain will continue strengthening your career even after graduation day.

The Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Teaching is designed for students intending to pursue a career in teaching theatre at the elementary, middle school, or high school level. This degree also prepares students to pursue an advanced degree in education. At its core, the BA in Theatre Teaching provides well-rounded theatrical training mixed with superior education courses. In this degree, students take 45 hours in theatre-specific courses, including acting, directing, and design. They also take 30 hours in education courses designed to sharpen their pedagogy skills. Additionally, there are numerous mainstage opportunities in our five productions each year along with scene work, student films, and Nashville professional opportunities. All students complete student teaching at an area school before graduation.

Our graduates are in demand in every facet of chemistry and biochemistry. And that includes the medical, industrial, governmental, educational and nonprofit sectors. By the way, more than 50 percent of our biochemistry graduates have earned doctorate degrees. So get started with us — choose the degree path that is right for you. There's no capstone required for our biochemistry majors. But most of our students take part in undergraduate research at Lipscomb, at major research universities — or both. It's common for graduates of both of our biochemistry degrees to get into recognized research universities and medical schools across the U.S. Whatever your goals are, we'll help you get there.
