Our program sets itself apart by being distinctly Christian - with a plethora of research opportunities. We provide flexible emphases for our applied chemistry major, from computer science or mathematics to business, green chemistry, environmental chemistry and forensic science.

Teaching (Chemistry - Teaching)
If the teaching field is your path, you'll gain an excellent background in chemistry as well as the educational knowledge you need to prepare for your own students. Chemistry teachers are in demand. Our students are regularly recruited. They move on to be educational administrators - headmasters, principals, and assistant principals.

Explore your creative potential by broadening your skills in various art forms. In our studio art program, you’ll be exposed to mediums such as painting, drawing, sculpture, videography, and printmaking. With a wide range of artistic knowledge, you’ll be prepared to influence and better the world through art.

You’ll learn from faculty who have a wealth of experience in artistic mediums and international exhibitions, in an environment that integrates faith and work. Gain 24/7 access to our studios, meet with exhibiting artists in our on-campus John C. At Lipscomb, you'll grow your creative skills under some of the most prominent animators in the U.S., including Tom Bancroft and John Pomeroy. You’ll even have the option of taking on opportunities in Los Angeles — our department’s Los Angeles internship program as well as a yearly trip to work at an animation studio there.

Our faculty have decades of experience in web technologies, security systems and more.

We'll guide you into broadening your skill in web design, web content development, client liaison, client-side/server-side scripting, in addition to web server and network security configuration.  Web development can range from developing the simplest static plain text pages to complex Web-based internet applications, electronic commerce sites and social network services. You'll take part in departmental productions and in the local Nashville theatre scene. Our professional faculty will connect you to outside opportunities. The Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Teaching is designed for students intending to pursue a career in teaching theatre at the elementary, middle school, or high school level. This degree also prepares students to pursue an advanced degree in education. At its core, the BA in Theatre Teaching provides well-rounded theatrical training mixed with superior education courses. In this degree, students take 45 hours in theatre-specific courses, including acting, directing, and design. They also take 30 hours in education courses designed to sharpen their pedagogy skills. Additionally, there are numerous mainstage opportunities in our five productions each year along with scene work, student films, and Nashville professional opportunities. All students complete student teaching at an area school before graduation.

The more mathematics an engineering, science, computer science or business student takes, the more jobs openings and graduate school openings are available to that student. The applied mathematics degree is an especially good choice for a double major for students who are already required to have a minor in mathematics, such as engineering and computer science majors. It also qualifies business students to work as an actuary.
