Computer Science
The computer science degree program is applied in nature and is designed to prepare students to begin or advance computing careers in business, industry, government, or education, or to pursue further study in computer science. The curriculum is thorough, current, and oriented toward the technical competencies required of a modern computer professional with an emphasis on the development, evaluation, and integration of software systems.

What Will I Learn
Within this program, you’ll analyze a complex computing problem, and to apply principles of computing and other relevant disciplines to identify solutions. You’ll also design, implement, and evaluate a computing-based solution to meet a given set of computing requirements in the context of the program’s discipline. As apart of this degree, you will be able to communicate effectively, make informed judgments and function as a member or leader within computer science team using theory and software development fundamentals to produce solutions.

Biology
Hone your critical thinking skills and round out your education with unique research opportunities when you pursue a bachelor of science degree in biology. As part of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi’s School of Science and Engineering, you’ll benefit from small classes led by award-winning faculty and hands-on research. Our undergraduate biology degree has six tracks, fitting a wide variety of student interests and career goals.

General Business
This program of study provides a broad-based business background for those persons who are interested in a business career but do not wish to specialize in a specific functional area. The general business curriculum includes a study of various business disciplines that provides a broader competency base for those who may want to work in or to manage small businesses or selected not-for-profit organizations. This major provides a background for entry-level work in a broad range of businesses. An on campus format provides a mix of online, face-to-face, and blended courses. An online completion format provides 60 hours of online courses.

Within this program, you’ll gain a broad-based understanding of business. In addition, all general business majors will demonstrate knowledge of key international business theories and concepts, and will apply these international business theories and concepts correctly.

Sociology
As the largest department in the College of Liberal Arts, we offer undergraduate degrees in both psychology and sociology, as well as minors in Social Work and Women and Gender Studies.

An undergraduate degree from our department prepares students to work in a variety of community settings, including social service agencies, human resource departments and mental health treatment programs.

What Will I Learn
Within this program, you will gain a broad understanding of the theories, concepts, definitions and language of sociology. You will also cultivate an understanding of the methods of research and interpretation of research findings. With this degree you will develop selected skills applicable to careers in the public or private sector.

Psychology students at TAMUCC receive an excellent and intellectually exciting education in psychology as a science. Our faculty members represent many of the varied fields of contemporary psychology, including developmental psychology, social psychology, experimental psychology, personality psychology, and clinical psychology.

Our undergraduate Bachelor of Arts program is designed to provide the psychology major with a broadly-based education in the discipline. For those who are interested, opportunities exist within the department to conduct research under the supervision of our faculty.

In keeping with the University’s mission, the discipline of psychology seeks to discover, communicate, and apply knowledge about human behavior in a complex and changing world.

The specific mission of the undergraduate program is three-fold: to provide a basic education within the field of psychology as a foundation for graduate work in a professional field of psychology, such as clinical or counseling psychology, cognitive psychology, social psychology, or developmental psychology; to provide disciplinary knowledge through a broadly-based curriculum which can be applied to related careers such as human services, business, communications, and research; and to contribute to the education of students majoring in other areas of study.

Spanish
The main focus of the program is to develop the student’s language proficiency and the literary, cultural, practical application, and translation competencies demanded by many professional fields. To accomplish these goals, the Spanish curriculum includes courses in general Spanish Language, Spanish for the Professions, Hispanic Linguistics, Spanish and Spanish-American Literature and Civilizations, and Translation.

What Will I Learn
Within this program, you will demonstrate advanced proficiency in Spanish through performance on examinations, in-class presentations, and research papers. You will also demonstrate the ability to understand, analyze, and interpret the cultural, linguistic and literary aspects of the Spanish-speaking countries through in-class presentations, examinations, and research papers. With this degree, you will be prepared to teach Spanish and/or continue their studies at the graduate level.

The mission of the Graduate Mathematics program is to increase understanding and the ability to apply mathematics and statistics through in-depth study, novel applications, and research. The areas of emphasis are mathematics education and applications of mathematics and statistics. The faculty engages in research and scholarly activities at the forefront of their specialties, with established and developing connections with the mathematics, statistics and education communities at large, and leads students through program research activities and projects or theses.

The Mathematics program prepares students for careers in education, science and industry, and serves the community by providing expertise to local schools, coastal industries and research centers. Students pursuing this degree will choose between the Applied & Computational Mathematics and the Curriculum Content option. The Applied and Computational Mathematics option will especially benefit individuals employed in scientific or technical fields seeking advancement or additional training to enhance their knowledge and skills, or those preparing for a career in higher education instruction or building a foundation for doctoral studies in a mathematical field. The Curriculum Content option specifically addresses the needs of secondary teachers wishing to enhance their skills in learning, teaching and understanding mathematics.

Our program offers performance opportunities via a wide array of ensembles which are open to all university students, including university orchestra, symphonic and concert bands, pep band, jazz band, university singers, Camerata Isla (chamber choir), and Corpus Christi Chorale. Music majors also participate in chamber ensembles including string quartet, various woodwind and brass ensembles, percussion ensemble, guitar ensemble, and more.

An accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Music, the university offers three undergraduate music degrees to help you reach your career goals: the Bachelor of Arts in Music, the Bachelor of Music leading to Teacher Certification, and the Bachelor of Music in Performance.

The Bachelor of Arts in Music has two tracks: Music Industry Emphasis and Music Studies Emphasis. Students can also choose a general Music Performance minor or a minor in Music Industry, which includes studies in recording technology and music business.

The kinesiology major prepares you for a professional career in health science-related fields, including athletic training, exercise science, physical education, sports management, sports coaching, or strength/conditioning.

The Pre-Master's Program is a 2-semester program, designed to help international students fully prepare for entry to a graduate degree program. During your studies you will work alongside experienced faculty to discover your potential in your field.

Your program will be a combination of core, English for Academic Purposes courses, and academic courses specific to your chosen degree. These courses have been specially designed to provide international students with the academic and English language skills required to help you succeed in your graduate degree.

Master of Business Administration
The Master of Business Administration degree will help you to develop your skills in communication and leadership so you can graduate as an effective leader, capable of responsibly leading and ethically problem-solving.
