The mission of the Graduate Mathematics program is to increase understanding and the ability to apply mathematics and statistics through in-depth study, novel applications, and research. The areas of emphasis are mathematics education and applications of mathematics and statistics. The faculty engages in research and scholarly activities at the forefront of their specialties, with established and developing connections with the mathematics, statistics and education communities at large, and leads students through program research activities and projects or theses.

The Mathematics program prepares students for careers in education, science and industry, and serves the community by providing expertise to local schools, coastal industries and research centers. Students pursuing this degree will choose between the Applied & Computational Mathematics and the Curriculum Content option. The Applied and Computational Mathematics option will especially benefit individuals employed in scientific or technical fields seeking advancement or additional training to enhance their knowledge and skills, or those preparing for a career in higher education instruction or building a foundation for doctoral studies in a mathematical field. The Curriculum Content option specifically addresses the needs of secondary teachers wishing to enhance their skills in learning, teaching and understanding mathematics.

The International Year is a 1-semester program, equivalent to a year's study of a bachelor's degree. This program has been specially designed to prepare international students for an undergraduate degree at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. You will learn in a supportive environment, helping you to adjust to your new surroundings.

Your International Year program will be a combination of English for Academic Purposes courses to develop your English language skills, and route specific courses. Each of these courses has been specially designed to help you develop the skills required to help you succeed in your university degree.

Atmospheric Science
The Bachelor of Science program in Atmospheric Sciences addresses the needs of students interested in studying meteorology or climate science. The program provides students with an in-depth knowledge of the physical characteristics, motions and processes of air; as well as the interactions of this protective layer with the underlying oceans and continents. The undergraduate program emphasizes a systems approach, combining traditional atmospheric sciences with emerging fields. In particular, the program focuses on the fields of tropical meteorology and oceanography that are directly linked to the Gulf of Mexico and surrounding coastal regions where the university is strategically located.

Designed for students who want to become historians, develop academic skills to prepare for careers in public history, or archiving or prepare for PhD programs. The program will also enhance the professional development of secondary education teachers.

Learning about the past in an exciting endeavor. It also involves more than just telling stories. Professional historians use archives and the work of other scholars to develop their own understanding of the past. They research, analyze, and offer original interpretations of the past in rigorous and clearly-written work. As graduate students in history, you will do the same. The Master's degree in History is structured to introduce students to these critical tasks.

The MA in History will benefit secondary school teachers seeking to enhance their professional skills and standing. It will also benefit students planning careers in academia, public history, archival work, government, non-profit, or the professions.

The student who wishes to obtain a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry may do so by following one of the four curriculum plans referred to as Concentrations. The options include general, environmental, biochemistry, and physical science education concentrations. Students who are pre-medical, pre-dental, pre-optometry, pre-pharmacy, or pre-veterinary medicine may follow the biochemistry concentration. In addition, the biochemistry concentration offers an option which would allow students to pursue certification in clinical chemistry while obtaining their Bachelors in Chemistry.

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program is designed for students with diverse undergraduate backgrounds. It is a program suitable for both non-business and business graduates.

The goal of the MBA program is to prepare individuals for the responsibilities of management in a wide variety of business and non-business endeavors.

The Chemistry faculty seeks to provide a high-quality educational experience for students majoring in chemistry in preparation for industrial or government positions, for graduate study, and for entry to medical or dental schools. The program is also designed for those planning to teach chemistry or physics at the 7-12 level, or who need chemical knowledge and skills relevant to future studies in the sciences. What Will I Learn
Within this program, you’ll gain a broad understanding of chemical concepts. You’ll also understand a variety of chemical data. As part of this degree, you’ll perfect your communication skills regarding chemical information in oral and written form, with appropriate use of technology.

Public Administration focuses on the application of Public Administration theory and concepts in real world situations. The program focuses on the management of critical issues in our three tracks:

• Public Management
• Public Safety
• Healthcare Administration
• Non-profit Management

The MPA has been designed to meet the needs of full-time employees wishing to earn their degree through part-time study. Students in the program will take a core of seven courses in order to increase their understanding of administrative theory, policy making, data analysis, public budgeting and finance, and human resource management.

This program has two main objectives: to provide an advanced understanding of the criminal justice system and its components and to provide either a concentration of knowledge and application of skills in a specialized subfield of study or a broad exploration of the discipline based on individual student needs through the selection of disciplinary electives.

The criminal justice program leads to a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice and supports the Bachelor of Applied Science Degree with courses applicable to criminal justice, community and mental health, and legal studies tracks.

Industrial Engineers apply science, mathematics, and engineering methods to complex system integration and operations. Because these systems are so large and complex, IEs need to have knowledge and skills in a wide variety of disciplines, the ability to work well with people, and a broad, systems perspective. Industrial engineers use their knowledge and skills to improve systematic processes through the use of statistical analysis, interpersonal communication, design, planning, quality control, operations management, computer simulation, and problem solving.

The industrial engineering curriculum prepares graduates to design, develop, implement, and improve integrated systems that include people, materials, information, equipment and energy. The curriculum includes in-depth instruction to accomplish the integration of systems using appropriate analytical, computational, and experimental practices.

The marketing major is designed to help students prepare for careers in fields such as retailing, distribution, marketing research, advertising, and personal selling.

The marketing curriculum provides knowledge and competencies that facilitate acquiring and succeeding in entry-level positions and moving into marketing management positions or business ownership. Emphasis is on development of analytical skills adequate for and appropriate to professional marketing activities in a highly competitive global market place. Marketing courses stress problem solving and decision making and the development and implementation of competitive policies and strategies.

Within this program, you’ll gain a broad understanding of marketing. You’ll be able to demonstrate knowledge of key marketing theories and concepts, and the ability to apply these theories and concepts.
