The International Year is a 3-semester program, equivalent to a year's study of a bachelor's degree. Mechanical Engineering
Mechanical engineering is a branch of engineering that applies principles of engineering, basic science, and mathematics (including multivariate calculus and differential equations) for modeling, analysis, design, and realization of physical systems, components or processes.

What Will I Learn
Within this program, you’ll gain a broad understanding of the ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics. You’ll also be able to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors. With this degree you can function effectively on a team developing and conducting appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions.

Music
Our program offers performance opportunities via a wide array of ensembles which are open to all university students, including university orchestra, symphonic and concert bands, pep band, jazz band, university singers, Camerata Isla (chamber choir), and Corpus Christi Chorale. Music majors also participate in chamber ensembles including string quartet, various woodwind and brass ensembles, percussion ensemble, guitar ensemble, and more.

What Will I Learn
Within this program, you’ll gain a broad understanding of music. You’ll also understand music theory, history, literature, and culture. As part of this degree, you’ll perfect your critical thinking skills when hearing musical sounds.

Accounting
The accounting major is designed to provide entry-level knowledge, skills, and concepts for careers in accounting. Within this program, you’ll gain a broad understanding of accounting. You’ll also understand key accounting theories and concepts, and will apply these accounting theories and concepts correctly. As part of this degree, you’ll perfect your communication skills and be competent in business practices.

Hone your critical thinking skills and round out your education with unique research opportunities when you pursue a bachelor of science degree in biology.

As part of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi’s School of Science and Engineering, you’ll benefit from small classes led by award-winning faculty and hands-on research. Our undergraduate biology degree has six tracks, fitting a wide variety of student interests and career goals.

If you wish to continue your studies and dive deeper into research, a master of science in biology may be a possible track for you.

Mathematics
The mission of the Mathematics Program at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is to increase the knowledge and use of mathematics by persons both at the University and in the surrounding area. We strive to educate students at the university so that they are prepared to use mathematics intelligently in their chosen fields of study and to understand mathematics as it affects their lives and participation in public affairs.

What Will I Learn
Within this program, you’ll gain a broad understanding of mathematics. You’ll be able to recognize mathematics outside the realm of the classroom, and apply undergraduate-level mathematical content as a matter of professional practice.

Sociology
As the largest department in the College of Liberal Arts, we offer undergraduate degrees in both psychology and sociology, as well as minors in Social Work and Women and Gender Studies. We also offer a master’s degree in psychology with a clinical emphasis.

An undergraduate degree from our department prepares students to work in a variety of community settings, including social service agencies, human resource departments and mental health treatment programs.

What Will I Learn
Within this program, you will gain a broad understanding of the theories, concepts, definitions and language of sociology. You will also cultivate an understanding of the methods of research and interpretation of research findings. With this degree you will develop selected skills applicable to careers in the public or private sector.

Economics
The economics major is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in the theory and applications of economics in preparation for their chosen profession.

Within this program, you’ll gain a broad understanding of economics. You’ll be able to demonstrate an understanding of contemporary economic theories and policy considerations in a domestic and international context. In addition, demonstrate the ability to identify relevant (valid, reliable, and important) information to the issue being studied.

The MA in English program offers students an innovative curriculum, a dynamic faculty, and many opportunities for professional development. Our graduates continue into Ph.D. programs, become faculty at two year colleges, work in industry or in government service, and serve as highly successful teachers in the public schools. Our combination of a challenging curriculum and personalized attention ensures that our graduates are ready for a wide variety of careers.

The MA in English Program offers all candidates the opportunity to grow intellectually and creatively through the advanced study of language, literature, and writing.

As part of the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA), the Masters of Public Administration Program at TAMU-CC encourages you to go public with your career.

Public Administration focuses on the application of Public Administration theory and concepts in real world situations. The program focuses on the management of critical issues in our three tracks:

• Public Management
• Public Safety
• Healthcare Administration
• Non-profit Management

The MPA has been designed to meet the needs of full-time employees wishing to earn their degree through part-time study. Students in the program will take a core of seven courses in order to increase their understanding of administrative theory, policy making, data analysis, public budgeting and finance, and human resource management.

The marketing major is designed to help students prepare for careers in fields such as retailing, distribution, marketing research, advertising, and personal selling.

The marketing curriculum provides knowledge and competencies that facilitate acquiring and succeeding in entry-level positions and moving into marketing management positions or business ownership. Emphasis is on development of analytical skills adequate for and appropriate to professional marketing activities in a highly competitive global market place. Marketing courses stress problem solving and decision making and the development and implementation of competitive policies and strategies.

Within this program, you’ll gain a broad understanding of marketing. You’ll be able to demonstrate knowledge of key marketing theories and concepts, and the ability to apply these theories and concepts.
