Economics
Our economics program prepares you for a wide variety of careers in governmental and nonprofit organizations, business, law, public administration, and foreign services.

Our economics program is a good match if you want to pursue graduate work in economics, business, public administration, or the law. Our courses are designed to provide you with a strong understanding of the economic aspect of society.

Music Production and Technology
Music production & technology at Hartt trains musicians to become music production professionals (i.e. recording, mixing, and mastering engineers).  Musicianship training has played an essential role for many, if not most, successful producers. Through study in music, electronics and acoustics, you will develop the skills and knowledge necessary to work in the professional audio industry.

Criminal Justice
Our criminal justice program focuses on the interdisciplinary view of crime and its control, including policing, crime prevention through personal change and community development. You develop broad skills and take classes in criminology, law, policing, sociology, and forensic studies.

Criminal justice courses are taught by faculty who have in-depth experience as criminal justice attorneys, gang unit and state police officers, medical examiners, and probation administrators. The program offers you opportunities to study within agencies dealing with crime and justice and take courses that study the full range of issues related to the social nature of crime, criminal law, and social control.

Environmental Engineering
The Master of Science (MS) in environmental engineering program is a research-oriented program that focuses on the advancement of the fundamental body of knowledge in environmental engineering while also fostering the development of skills in design and analysis. This program lets you study an area of interest as part of a graduate thesis. Work towards solving a contemporary problem and become a technical expert. This program is also ideal for those who endeavor to eventually pursue their doctoral degree in an area within engineering.

Cinema
You have the opportunity to study film as a literary art form and learn production skills to create your own movie.   Here you can take advantage of opportunities to study film during a semester abroad or get additional experience through an internship at a production company in Connecticut, New York, or Boston.

Our alumni have gone to work at television networks and film production companies as directors, producers, and as directors of international film festivals.

Judaic Studies

Judaic studies is an interdisciplinary program of study which focuses on the Jews and Judaism, including but not limited to, historical, linguistic, religious, sociological, political, and philosophical perspectives. Our program spans the periods from the beginnings of ancient Israel through the modern Jews and modern Israel. If you have no previous experience with Hebrew language, you are required to complete 42 credits including three required, core courses in Jewish history (9 credits) and two years of modern Hebrew (12 credits). The modern Hebrew requirement may be waived for students who demonstrate equivalent fluency.

The Master of Engineering (MEng) in mechanical engineering program emphasizes applied design and stresses the development of oral, visual, and written communication skills in mechanical engineering to enable individuals to advance in their careers. The program offers fundamental as well as design-oriented specialty coursework, applied mathematics, and engineering management. You may concentrate your studies in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or turbomachinery engineering for the MEng degree by selecting appropriate courses available.
