The International Pathway Program (IPP) is your route to a degree from the highly ranked University of Hartford. Music Education: Instrumental Conducting (Wind Band)
The Music Education-Wind Band Conducting emphasis is designed for graduate students who wish to further their teaching and conducting skills. There are two different tracks for students in this emphasis. Typically, students are public school music teachers, enrolled in the summers-only master's degree program who wish to enhance their teaching and conducting skills while still maintaining their full-time teaching jobs during the school year. The second track is for full-time students and is designed to ready students for entrance into a DMA or PhD program or a profession in academia.

Organizational Psychology
The integration of theory and practice in our MSOP program prepares you to lead, manage, and/or consult with dynamic and diverse organizations operating in a global environment. Courses are taken in the Department of Psychology, School of Communication, and Barney School of Business, students develop unique analytical skills and accumulate knowledge from the differing perspectives of these schools of thought.

French Horn
Through weekly privates lessons, and weekly studio classes, you will focus on small ensemble and solo playing. At Hartt, you will receive comprehensive musical training while developing innovative ideas and career ready skills while gaining exposure to nationally and internationally recognized musicians (recent guest artists include Gene Pokorney of CSO, Julie Landsman of The Met, Ray Mase of ABQ.)

Music Theatre
Hartt’s music theatre major integrates comprehensive actor training with rigorous instruction in singing and dance. Weekly individual voice lessons, along with classes in ear training and music theory, provide you with a strong musical foundation. Multiple levels of ballet, jazz, and tap help you develop the dance skills required for professional success.

Computer and Electronic Engineering Technology
Explore the technical side of engineering through the CEET program. Expand your skills through and design the program for your goals and interest through various coursework and five technical specialty electives. With this flexibility, you have the choice to advance programming skills or expand knowledge in areas like data acquisition and automated systems. You will also be trained to use industry-standard technology and software, to be well-prepared to start working full time after completing the program.

Robotics Engineering

This program will prepare you to fulfill the growing and expected demands for entry-level careers in robotics. Dive into a hands-on experience around robotics principals, designs, and operation. Students in this program will especially benefit from the laboratories in CETA, including two new robotics labs.

Robotics is the discipline that combines computer, electrical, mechanical, sensing, and computer science in real time. It plays a role in nearly every aspect of our lives, and we can see its applications in automation, manufacturing, the defense industry, commerce—like Amazon—and the healthcare industry to mention a few.

Guitar
In 1968, Hartt graduated its first guitar major and over the years the program has expanded to offer a Master of Music, Graduate Professional Diploma, Doctor of Musical Arts, and Artist Diploma.

At Hartt, you will participate in masterclasses given by world renowned performers. Past guest artists include Oscar Ghiglia, Antigoni Goni, and Andrew York.

Our graduates presently hold or have held guitar positions at various prestigious institutions, including New England Conservatory, Boston Conservatory, The Longy School of Music, and Oberlin Conservatory.

Our alumni and present students have won or been finalists in the Alirio Diaz International Guitar Competition in Venezuela, Guitar Foundation of America International Guitar Competition, American String Teachers Competition, MTNA competition, and Appalachian State Guitar Competition.

In addition to classical guitar training, you will also experience chamber music, guitar pedagogy, guitar literature, lute and baroque guitar tablature, and electric guitar styles. Our goal is to graduate students who are well-prepared to enter the fields of concert performance and college teaching. Towards that end we hold weekly performance classes that are required of all performance majors. In addition, every year, we sponsor six to eight public performances as part of our Evening with Guitar concert series.  This provides our students the opportunity to develop and refine their performance skills in a professional setting.

The Hartt trumpet studio is a tight-knit community of artists who will inspire you, guide you, and share a musical journey with you.

Weekly lessons, master classes, brass repertoire class, special seminars and guest artists, are all part of the equation here at Hartt to make you become the player you want to become. You can accomplish so much, and at Hartt, you will keep getting better.

Civil Engineering
The civil engineering program prepares you for careers in various areas such as structural, geotechnical, transportation, environmental, water resources, and construction engineering.

Civil engineers will help solve critical challenges of the 21st century by rebuilding our nation’s infrastructure; planning, designing, constructing, and maintaining our built environment while protecting our natural resources; and leading multidisciplinary teams to achieve a sustainable world and raise the global quality of life.

Our program provides undergraduate laboratories and student-oriented collaborative space for research and project-based learning opportunities. Students creatively develop innovative solutions to issues facing society working alongside engaged faculty members and professional practitioners.
