Ballet Pedagogy
The ballet pedagogy emphasis is designed to prepare students for a career in dance education at the highest level. Students are trained to teach ballet to all ages in professional school and university dance programs. This major strongly emphasizes pedagogical structure and theory, covering different styles and schools of ballet and modern dance, from the earliest pre-ballet to coaching the advanced dancer. This emphasis incorporates classroom teaching and internships in both The Hartt School Community Division's dance classes and in area public schools. Students in the pedagogy program participate fully in the many performance opportunities available to Hartt's dancers. This program offers future dance teachers the opportunity to develop their ability to function as engaged and educated citizens throughout their careers.

Early Childhood Education
extensive professional preparation through core theory, site-based observations, real-world fieldwork experiences, and two student teaching semesters in area schools.

Physics
Our Bachelor of Arts in Physics is the perfect choice if you want to study physics but are not necessarily intending to become a physicist. The program gives you a strong scientific background and analytical and problem-solving skills to pursue a variety of related careers. You customize your degree by choosing electives that help you explore your career options.

Biology
If you are planning a career in research or plan to go on to graduate, medical, dental school then the Bachelor of Science in Biology program is recommended for you.
The curriculum includes a broad approach to biology and offers a comprehensive background in mathematics and the natural sciences.

The Bachelor of Science in Biology prepares you to successfully apply to graduate programs in biology that lead to a master’s degree or doctorate, or to a professional school such as medical, dental, veterinary, or pharmacy. The Bachelor of Science in Biology program also offers a path to earn both a BS in Biology and PharmD degree in six years in conjunction with the University of Saint Joseph Pharmacy School.

Trombone

Judaic Studies
Judaic studies is an interdisciplinary program of study which focuses on the Jews and Judaism, including but not limited to, historical, linguistic, religious, sociological, political, and philosophical perspectives. Our program spans the periods from the beginnings of ancient Israel through the modern Jews and modern Israel. If you have no previous experience with Hebrew language, you are required to complete 42 credits including three required, core courses in Jewish history (9 credits) and two years of modern Hebrew (12 credits). The modern Hebrew requirement may be waived for students who demonstrate equivalent fluency.

Computer and Electronic Engineering Technology
Explore the technical side of engineering through the CEET program. Expand your skills through and design the program for your goals and interest through various coursework and five technical specialty electives. With this flexibility, you have the choice to advance programming skills or expand knowledge in areas like data acquisition and automated systems. You will also be trained to use industry-standard technology and software, to be well-prepared to start working full time after completing the program.

Health Sciences - Pre-Pharmacy

The BS/PharmD is for the academically outstanding student with strong, realistic motivation toward the pharmacy profession. Initial study at the University of Hartford allows you to complete the general education and basic science requirements for the BS in health science degree and the prerequisites necessary for pharmacy school.

The BS degree is awarded by the University of Hartford following the successful completion of the first year of graduate study. Students who are not in the accelerated program typically complete the BS degree in four years at the University of Hartford.
