The Master of Science Graduate Program in Environmental and Biological Sciences is designed to broaden the student's perspective and provide skills and knowledge for understanding and solving problems in the environmental and biological sciences. The program teaches students the direct and indirect economic, social, and political contributions of the environmental and biological sciences. The program underscores the interdisciplinary and cooperative nature of environmental and biological issues. This program teaches students how to manage conflicts and emphasizes the importance of effectively communicating with the private and public sectors, regulatory agencies, interest groups, and communities. The Program objectives are listed below:

• To demonstrate the pivotal role of the environmental and biological sciences in understanding and addressing environmental, ecological, medical, agricultural and policy-related issues.
• To promote the professional development of students for entry and advancement in the private and public sectors as scientists, educators, administrators or managers.
• To provide students with the necessary skills for performing research, reviewing and evaluating regulatory guidelines and writing professional documents.
• To foster an understanding and appreciation of the role of values and ethics in research, management and institutional performance.
• To strengthen the academic foundations of students seeking entry into professional schools and into doctoral programs at graduate schools.
• To provide teachers with opportunities for advancement and to broaden and update their knowledge in order to enrich the classroom experience of their students.

This program offers students the tools and direction to enter the professional Theatre industry, graduate study in Theatre, or work in a related field. Students have the opportunity to explore the broad world of Theatre while discovering and developing their own areas of interest and emphasis, gaining hands-on experience in performance, design, technology, management, playwriting, and advanced academic studies. Students develop résumé and portfolio materials, learn to network with industry professionals, and are encouraged to work professionally through employment opportunities and internships. The rich array of professional quality theatre, musical theatre, and dance productions each year give students a chance to immediately apply what is learned in the classroom, and new works and outreach initiatives allow students to experiment with creating and producing their own work.

TROY’s political science program is split into two concentrations — American politics and public administration and international politics — that will provide you with critical thinking skills necessary to thrive in the political, commercial, educational and government worlds. This expertise has given graduates opportunities to move into government work in Washington, D.C., go into state or local government and work for political campaigns. Because of this, there is a growing demand for rehabilitation professionals and other workers who provide services to people with disabilities. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistic’s (BLS) Occupational Outlook Handbook, physical therapists are among the fastest growing occupations in the nation with more than a 22 percent growth rate projected from 2018-2028.

That growth isn’t only felt in the physical therapy field—other rehabilitation-related occupations are expected to grow rapidly, as well. The BLS projects there will be a 22 percent growth rate among professions such as mental health counseling, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology and substance abuse counseling.

TROY’s hospitality management program provides you with courses designed to give you an overview of the industry as well as hands-on learning opportunities. For example, in TROY’s hotel management course, you’ll shadow different areas of local hotels to experience what happens within different departments, and in your restaurant management course, you’ll work in groups to create a restaurant concept that looks at everything from layout and décor to menu design and menu development.

Your course work will also prepare you to work with diverse groups, strengthen your written and oral communication skills as well as your organizational and leadership skills.
