Whether you’re looking for a change or to advance your career, our direct entry Master of Nursing program will help you pursue advanced-practice nursing qualifications without a prior bachelor’s or graduate degree in the field. This accelerated program offers the clinical nurse leader (CNL) track, which will prepare you for clinical leadership roles, giving you the ability to manage and solve complex patient problems in a range of healthcare settings. You’ll work directly with clinicians to help manage the delivery of patient care, including the development and implementation of treatment plans and the evaluation of their success.

A Student-Designed Option in Business Administration is available for those students whose interests are not fully satisfied by any of the other currently available options in business administration. Students desiring a self-designed option must submit the application to the faculty coordinator. After approval by the Faculty Coordinator*, the proposal must receive approval from the Undergraduate Programs Office in Paul College.

Students considering this option should begin to plan for it no later than the second semester of their Sophomore year. The formal application deadline is October 15 of a student’s Junior year; students must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The written proposal must contain an introduction to the option, the specific rationale for pursuing this program of study (including academic and career interests, and why none of the existing options are appropriate), and the specific program of study proposed (courses and schedule). The proposal will also include a current copy of the student's UNH transcript.  

With an M.A. in history, you’ll gain an advanced understanding of how societies, cultures, economics, politics, science and arts of the past have shaped today’s world. Our Master of Arts degree is highly flexible, so you can tailor your program to meet your needs. Our faculty are experts in a wide range of times, places and subjects, with particular strengths in cultural history, women's history, military history, the history of religion, Atlantic history, and the history of science and technology. In this graduate program, you’ll be trained in methods of historical research and writing that will prepare you for a professional career or advanced studies.

Most entering students have a BA/BS in economics or environmental/agricultural economics. Incoming students should have, at a minimum, coursework in intermediate microeconomic theory, econometrics, and calculus. Areas of interest include agricultural economics, community and regional economics, land economics, water economics, and environmental economics.

The geography major provides undergraduates with a solid foundation in geography by uniting social and biophysical sciences, humanities and technology to examine the factors that make a place or environment unique. Connecting academic inquiry to real-world problem solving, you will develop critical thinking skills and be prepared to transfer classroom and field experience into a wide range of careers. 

With interests ranging from globalization to climate change and sustainability, urbanization to community development at home and abroad, UNH geography graduates have gone on to careers in urban, regional and transportation planning, community development, environmental conservation and natural resources management, sustainability science, geographic information science, market research, locational analysis, population studies, foreign aid, international diplomacy and education. 

This program is tailored to students who want to teach mathematics at the high school level. It provides a strong foundation in mathematics with current pedagogical approaches and insightful study of student learning. Mathematics education students have the advantage of working directly within the mathematics department and coordinating with the education department to obtain New Hampshire teacher certification.

The Option in Entrepreneurial Studies is designed for students interested in entrepreneurship and creativity and who seek to learn about starting high growth business, working for a new venture, investing in start-ups or becoming involved in a new venture creation within an established organization. The ES option fosters an entrepreneurial culture throughout the program with a priority on applied learning in the dynamic environment of entrepreneurial ventures. Students apply what they’ve learned to a senior project and in conducting due diligence for investors. The ES option studies entrepreneurship from the entrepreneurs, employees and the investor’s perspective.
