The study of biology is the ideal preparation for students planning to enter professions such as medicine and other health-related fields that require competence in the biologic sciences. Students also select this curriculum because it provides the background to understand basic biological issues in health and disease, as well as environmental concerns.

Biology courses at Yeshiva College keep pace with the ever-changing nature of biological science. Courses are offered in ecology, cell structure, microbiology and immunology, molecular biology, and genetics (emphasizing our newfound ability to analyze and manipulate the genome). Honors courses and guided research projects encourage independent research.

Designed to meet the changing needs of health care and social services, our MA in Mental Health Counseling prepares students to test to become Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMCH) from the New York State Education Department. The 60-credit MA in Mental Health Counseling program at Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology located in New York City, offers theoretical and applied principles of psychological counseling. Courses are taught by faculty who are recognized experts in their fields.

At Yeshiva College, Bible is a multidimensional discipline. It begins with an effort to understand the Bible in its historical context, as illuminated by the history of the Ancient Near East and its linguistic and physical culture. It continues with the study of the Bible as it has been read and interpreted throughout Jewish history, from second temple texts to the rabbis of the Talmud to the classical medieval commentators, down to the present. The Yeshiva College Bible faculty, immersed in traditional approaches and trained in contemporary scholarship, brings these mutually enriching aspects of the study of Tanakh together in a fashion rarely available elsewhere.

Physician Assistants (PAs) are medical professionals who diagnose disease, develop and implement treatment plans, perform surgical procedures, prescribe medications and often serve as a patient’s principal healthcare provider. PAs complete thousands of hours of medical training to become versatile and collaborative clinicians. They practice nationwide, improving patient access to high-quality healthcare in medical and surgical settings.

Data analytics professionals shape organizational strategies and impact the bottom line by transforming quantitative data into qualitative insights. They also contribute to the greater social good, using data to address pressing challenges in healthcare, housing, poverty, education and transportation. In the Katz School's M.S. in Data Analytics and Visualization, you’ll learn to transform raw data into insightful output and master the underlying science of predictive and exploratory analyses, as well as techniques for creating visualizations and data narratives.

The study of economics helps students develop analytical tools to understand how modern economies allocate scarce resources to produce goods and services and how economic performance is affected by policies, technology, and institutions. It also provides students with a rigorous way of thinking about individual, business, and household decision-making.

This track of the Economics major provides ideal training for those interested in law, business, journalism, or public policy.

Students who study in the Yeshiva College English Department gain direct, intimate access to other cultures and time periods, through encounters with works from classical Greece, medieval Europe, and Victorian Britain to U.S. and world literature of the present. At the same time, students develop both analytically and creatively as writers and thinkers, learning to express themselves with clarity and power.
