Designed to meet the changing needs of health care and social services, our MA in Mental Health Counseling prepares students to test to become Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMCH) from the New York State Education Department. The 60-credit MA in Mental Health Counseling program at Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology located in New York City, offers theoretical and applied principles of psychological counseling. Instead of studying just one or another segment of human activity - e.g. politics, economics, literature, art, philosophy, etc. - history integrates all of them. Located at the intersection of multiple disciplines, it is of crucial importance to all students of the humanities and the social sciences.

Psychology is the science of behavior and mental processes. Many psychologists use scientific methods to study behavior, while others are professional practitioners who use psychological knowledge and technology to help solve individual and social problems. General areas of psychology include learning and memory, sensory systems and perception, and thought and language. Applied fields include clinical psychology, counseling, industrial/organizational psychology and school psychology. Graduates can pursue careers in psychology or in allied fields including medicine, dentistry, law, social work and education.

The computer science program at Yeshiva College provides students with the theoretical foundations and practical skills required for long term success in industry and in graduate school.

The Chemistry Department at Yeshiva College offers a rigorous program of study and encourages undergraduate students to engage in research during the academic year and summer to work one-on-one with our faculty members.

The Katz School's master's in Speech-Language Pathology, based in New York City, is one of the few SLP programs in the country specializing in the medical aspects of speech-language pathology. Our M.S. in SLP takes a multidisciplinary approach to diagnosing and treating speech, language and communication cases across the lifespan.

Through our hands-on curriculum, you will engage in clinical fieldwork each semester and gain practical, hands-on experience under the guidance of faculty, supervisors and mentors. You will have the opportunity to conduct research with faculty, attend professional conferences and contribute to academic publications, and you will graduate prepared to apply for certification from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and for licensure in New York State.

The Music Department offers course work and performing opportunities in Western classical music and jazz at the undergraduate level.

A fundamental guideline for all students pursuing the major and minor in music is that they should have a healthy balance between academic courses (history, theory, style analysis) and performance courses (chamber ensembles, jazz ensemble, applied music lessons). The study of music and the experience of music should reinforce each other. In this same light, music theory courses (harmony) place an emphasis on writing music.

The Music Department strongly encourages its majors to extend and refine their performance abilities during their student years by enrolling in at least one performance-oriented course each term that they are students. This means that many music majors (and minors, too) frequently take more courses in music performance ensembles and lessons than they are allowed to apply toward their major.

YU’s M.A. in Physics program, based in New York City, specializes in solving problems in quantum information, mechanical and electronic materials behavior, propagation of waves, biological matter, dynamics, and hardware and software development. These activities are of intrinsic interest from a fundamental point of view and they are also geared toward engineering applications.

Our master's in physics program explores exciting fields like quantum information and materials behavior. It prepares students for impactful careers in academia, industry, teaching and entrepreneurship while also developing their artistic appreciation for observing nature through the physicist’s lens.
