YU’s M.A. in Physics program, based in New York City, specializes in solving problems in quantum information, mechanical and electronic materials behavior, propagation of waves, biological matter, dynamics, and hardware and software development. These activities are of intrinsic interest from a fundamental point of view and they are also geared toward engineering applications.

Our master's in physics program explores exciting fields like quantum information and materials behavior. It prepares students for impactful careers in academia, industry, teaching and entrepreneurship while also developing their artistic appreciation for observing nature through the physicist’s lens. With robust knowledge of computer software and hardware development, our graduates gain access to rewarding jobs in the high-technology field, including developing their own high-tech startups. Yeshiva College students are singularly suited and uniquely challenged to study Tanakh intensively while bringing to bear the breadth of knowledge gained from a liberal arts education. At Yeshiva College, Bible is a multidimensional discipline. It begins with an effort to understand the Bible in its historical context, as illuminated by the history of the Ancient Near East and its linguistic and physical culture. It continues with the study of the Bible as it has been read and interpreted throughout Jewish history, from second temple texts to the rabbis of the Talmud to the classical medieval commentators, down to the present. The Yeshiva College Bible faculty, immersed in traditional approaches and trained in contemporary scholarship, brings these mutually enriching aspects of the study of Tanakh together in a fashion rarely available elsewhere.

With YU’s master’s in Cybersecurity, you’ll develop the technological and managerial expertise to plan, implement, upgrade, monitor and audit cybersecurity protocols and procedures. You’ll master state-of-the-art technologies and practices, and you’ll get hands-on experience with threat mitigation, detection and defense. And you’ll be doing all of this in the heart of New York City—a global epicenter for cybersecurity.

Protecting an organization's information assets and technology infrastructure is critical and requires hiring teams of cybersecurity professionals to protect against increasingly frequent attacks. Fueling this growth is the rapid evolution of cyber threats through the expansion of mobile device usage, the Internet of Things (IoT), machine learning, artificial intelligence and drones.

The computer science program at Yeshiva College provides students with the theoretical foundations and practical skills required for long term success in industry and in graduate school.

The Katz School's master's in Speech-Language Pathology, based in New York City, is one of the few SLP programs in the country specializing in the medical aspects of speech-language pathology. Our M.S. in SLP takes a multidisciplinary approach to diagnosing and treating speech, language and communication cases across the lifespan.

Through our hands-on curriculum, you will engage in clinical fieldwork each semester and gain practical, hands-on experience under the guidance of faculty, supervisors and mentors. You will have the opportunity to conduct research with faculty, attend professional conferences and contribute to academic publications, and you will graduate prepared to apply for certification from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and for licensure in New York State.

The study of biology is the ideal preparation for students planning to enter professions such as medicine and other health-related fields that require competence in the biologic sciences. Students also select this curriculum because it provides the background to understand basic biological issues in health and disease, as well as environmental concerns.

Biology courses at Yeshiva College keep pace with the ever-changing nature of biological science. Courses are offered in ecology, cell structure, microbiology and immunology, molecular biology, and genetics (emphasizing our newfound ability to analyze and manipulate the genome). Honors courses and guided research projects encourage independent research.

Whether you want to continue professionally in fields such as law or business, enter into more traditional areas like Jewish education or Jewish communal service, or pursue the degree out of intellectual curiosity and personal interest, the program is for those who want to be challenged and inspired.

In the M.A. degree in mathematics program, based in New York City, students gain a solid foundation in advanced mathematics and develop skills in mathematical modeling, numerical applications and data analysis in order to succeed in a variety of professions. A master's degree in mathematics opens many doors to jobs in finance, technology, biomedicine and data analysis, among others.

The Music Department offers course work and performing opportunities in Western classical music and jazz at the undergraduate level.

A fundamental guideline for all students pursuing the major and minor in music is that they should have a healthy balance between academic courses (history, theory, style analysis) and performance courses (chamber ensembles, jazz ensemble, applied music lessons). The study of music and the experience of music should reinforce each other. In this same light, music theory courses (harmony) place an emphasis on writing music.

The Music Department strongly encourages its majors to extend and refine their performance abilities during their student years by enrolling in at least one performance-oriented course each term that they are students. This means that many music majors (and minors, too) frequently take more courses in music performance ensembles and lessons than they are allowed to apply toward their major.

The Chemistry Department at Yeshiva College offers a rigorous program of study and encourages undergraduate students to engage in research during the academic year and summer to work one-on-one with our faculty members.

Chemistry is vital for students interested in medical and health-related careers, which are based on knowledge of the chemical sciences. It is also ideal for students interested in a broad, liberal arts education, with an emphasis on understanding the nature and interactions of the chemicals that make up the world.

The field of chemistry can lead to careers in research and teaching, medicine and health sciences, and industry and private service. The chemical and pharmaceutical industries provide opportunities for applied chemical research. Medicine and health-science fields emphasize the biologic aspects of advances in chemistry.
