The Diploma of Nursing has been designed to help you build knowledge and skills in a practical learning environment. Through on-campus simulation laboratories and industry placements, you'll graduate ready to help others.

There continues to be a high demand for enrolled nurses, and job expectations in this field are strong. In this nationally-accredited diploma, you will gain the skills to help provide acute, curative and rehabilatative care under the direction of a registered nurse.

You’ll learn to work with patients of all ages in different environments. There is a focus on aged care, community, acute care and mental health. You’ll also learn how to administer intravenous medications and gain the skills in acute care, which involves medical and surgical nursing skills.

Throughout your study, you can expect to study topics including:

The School of Health and Biomedical Sciences conducts research in the area of ageing and chronic disease. Experienced researchers will supervise your work in the areas of:

• Cognitive and sensory disorders
• Diabetes, fatty liver disease and obesity: nutritional factors and drug discovery
• Early-life determinants of chronic metabolic disorders
• Musculoskeletal function and pain
• Respiratory and sleep disorders.

The research methodologies available to students include:

• Use of laboratory disease models and evaluations
• Biochemical assays, molecular biology techniques and signalling pathway investigations
• Discovery of clinical biomarkers and new therapies for chronic disease.

You will undertake clinical or experimental research in one of these fields with an individual supervisor overseeing your development and progress.

Research is undertaken in a strongly multi-disciplinary environment that brings clinical and basic researchers together to undertake novel research at the boundaries between disciplines.

The Asian region is a key growth area for the aviation market, with double-digit growth rates in air traffic across China, Hong Kong and Singapore. Massive passenger growth means many more aircraft, larger and more airports, and larger and new airlines. This points to a need for more aerospace engineers, and more aviation-related employees.

During your study in the Master of Engineering (Aerospace), you'll learn how to analyse complex engineering assets in the aerospace and aviation environment; and you will develop engineering, scientific and technological solutions to ensure problem-free operations. The Master of Clinical Psychology provides you with the advanced knowledge and clinical skills that will enable you to function as professional clinical psychologist in a wide range of health, community and allied settings.

This training encompasses a wide range of theoretical and applied topics, such as knowledge of psychological principles, application of psychological theories and models, design and implementation of psychological interventions, ethical, legal and professional aspects of psychological practice, psychological assessment and measurement, applied research and evaluation, and communication and interpersonal relationships.

Advanced skills in assessment, diagnosis and treatment are imparted through intensive, small-group face-to-face didactic lectures/seminars, tutorials, case presentations, role plays and workshops. The Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education is designed to give you the skills and confidence to become an innovative and attuned professional teacher with the knowledge and experience to work in private enterprise, government agencies and community-based early childhood education settings, either locally or globally.

At the end of your studies, you'll be qualified to teach in the early childhood setting in Victoria. If you’re interested in teaching outside of Victoria or overseas, registration will be subject to the criteria of the relevant state or overseas accrediting authorities.

The Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) (Honours) will provide you with the skills to become a professional and highly employable mechanical engineer, within a national and international context.

In the first two years of this internationally accredited degree, you’ll learn the fundamentals of engineering sciences, mathematics, engineering design, and engineering professional practice.

As you progress, you'll customise your degree by focusing your studies in the general field of mechanical engineering or other areas such as manufacturing, automotive, business, mathematics or computing.

RMIT's Bachelor of Engineering (Aerospace Engineering) (Honours) / Bachelor of Business double degree provides you with the capability to play a pivotal role in planning, implementing and managing aerospace projects and developments in a wide range of industries that require high level business skills.

The aerospace engineering degree is concerned with analysing, designing and operating sophisticated aeronautics and astronautics hardware and software systems, while the business degree is concerned with organisational planning, coordination and resource direction.
