Under expert supervision, you will develop your skills and join researchers already active in traditional and complementary medicine. Emphasis will be on research into evidence-based healthcare and clarifying how these therapies may work.

The School of Health and Biomedical Sciences conducts research in the area of ageing and chronic disease, including:

• Metabolic diseases: obesity, type 2 diabetes and fatty liver disease
• Respiratory and sleep disorders
• Neurodegenerative and musculoskeletal diseases and pain management
• Drug discovery from traditional medicine
• Physical therapies
• Public health and health service research
• Research is undertaken in a strongly multi-disciplinary environment that brings clinical and basic researchers together to undertake novel research at the boundaries between disciplines.

As the pharmaceutical industry expands in Australia and world-wide, your understanding of the engineering process and other scientific fields involved in drug development and production, will ensure you’re well equipped to work across a range of roles.

You’ll gain a thorough understanding of the principles of chemical engineering and pharmaceutical sciences, allowing you to apply your knowledge to large scale production in the pharmaceutical industry.

You’ll have the opportunity to design creative solutions through inspiring and sustainable design-and-build projects, as well as taking part in the Engineers Without Borders Challenge — a humanitarian-focused course offered in all RMIT engineering degrees.

To ensure you graduate job-ready, you’ll also have an opportunity to undertake a work-integrated learning (industry experience) elective.

You'll examine how such disorders affect biomechanics, the nervous system and health in general. The focus is on manual treatments such as spinal adjustments and other joint and soft-tissue manipulation.

Anatomy, physiology and pathology courses underpin the clinical science studies of physical examination, differential diagnosis for the chiropractor and clinical practicum.

You will begin work-integrated learning immediately, culminating in your fourth year when you will perform patient-care duties with supervision from a registered practitioner.

At the RMIT Health Clinic at University Hill, Bundoora, fourth and fifth year students, under the supervision of registered chiropractors, treat patients using a wide variety of management approaches.

In RMIT's Bachelor of Engineering (Advanced Manufacturing and Mechatronics) (Honours) degree, you’ll learn about mechatronics, robotics, advanced materials, automated systems and the simulation and modelling of manufacturing processes.

As automation replaces people in various industry sectors, engineers with experience in robotics and mechatronics will be highly sought after.

This professionally accredited degree will prepare you to work in a wide range of industries and as a graduate, you'll demonstrate skills across mathematics, engineering, mechatronics, design and creativity. The Bachelor of Health, Physical Education and Sport (Secondary)  has been designed to equip you with the professional knowledge and practical skills you need to teach in diverse school settings.

Utilising a strong core curriculum with an explicit focus on teaching practice, and you will learn to use a range of teaching strategies that engage your students' needs, use assessment and data to inform practice, and use critical reflection to impact the future of your classroom.

Throughout this degree, you will:

RMIT's Bachelor of Biomedical Science will equip you with a fundamental understanding of the human body and how it interacts with disease: how it occurs, what happens, and how we can control, cure and prevent it.

In RMIT's Bachelor of Engineering (Sustainable Systems Engineering) (Honours), you'll learn how to protect, restore and create engineered and natural systems that are socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable.

As part of this systems engineering degree you’ll undertake a broad range of studies, graduating with the skills to design engineering solutions that meet the needs of society within economic and ecological constraints.

Your studies will focus on developing a sustainable systems approach, combining the fundamentals of sustainable systems design, engineering design, engineering mathematics and engineering science. Degree specialisations exist in renewable energy systems, energy efficiency and demand management, transport and logistics, and supply chain analytics.
