This global business major give you the skills to analyse and interpret the complex operations of global organisations, international trade and business relationships.

You’ll be introduced to key institutions and concepts in criminal justice, including policing and the correctional system. You’ll also learn about the uses of technology in crime, crime theories and crime investigation.

The highly-regarded Bachelor of Criminal Justice focuses on preparing you for employment. Close links with criminal justice agencies are built into its design, development and delivery.
You'll explore how criminal justice systems work to serve individuals and the community through law enforcement, policy, practice and reform.

In consultation with your discipline honours coordinator and your supervisor, you'll be allocated a project to develop your skills to an advanced level.

These projects are developed for honours students and may be a preliminary exploration, a component of a bigger research project, or part of an existing or new collaboration. All projects draw from the wide range of disciplines taught across RMIT's science programs. Many projects involve substantial cross-disciplinary work.

We live in a data-driven world. Huge volumes of information are generated at ever-increasing rates via social media, financial transactions, transportation, and scientific discovery, and the skills to understand this data have become a top priority.

The new interdisciplinary field of data science combines areas of computer science with mathematical statistics and domain expertise to manage and analyse data. Specialists develop the capability to derive insight and opportunity from the vast repositories of information that organisations collect. Data science also puts an emphasis on the specialised computational skills required to manage and analyse big data from sources such as social media, massive sensors, mobile and transaction data.

Through data science, businesses gain a competitive edge, governments deliver more targeted services, and research teams make new discoveries.

In this course, you will gain stronger practical skills and more hands-on laboratory experience.

As a laboratory technician, you’ll be able to conduct tests for pathologists, biochemists, clinical chemists, pharmacologists, veterinarians, microbiologists and bacteriologists. You’ll also be able to apply your knowledge of living systems to work toward solving important issues, such as controlling disease and making the environment safer.

You will provide technical support to scientists working in research, production and testing roles. Under supervision, you’ll get to examine changes in cells and tissues, perform chemical analyses of blood and other body fluids, and assist with research.
With this qualification, you’ll be able to work in hospitals, research institutes, pharmaceutical companies, private pathology laboratories, commercial laboratories and government departments.

Combining studies in urban planning and built environment with the social, economic, and political environment, the Master of Urban Planning and Environment equips you to shape efficient, practical, healthy, and sustainable cities.

Develop skills in critical analysis and draw from diverse sources to engage in professionally-relevant projects, conduct research, and promote effective policy outcomes. Benefit from practical and experiential learning, working on urban planning problems in the field, and consulting with industry.

This degree is offered online and face-to face. It is primarily taught through evening classes during the week, with some topics delivered through intensive full-day workshops. All core topics and some electives are also offered online in case students aren’t able to study face-to-face.

The Master of Biotechnology focuses on the study of living systems to address challenges in the environment, health or food science.

Students will explore gene and protein technologies, bioinformatics, and various microbiology and food science disciplines, both in the classroom and via a strong component of hands-on laboratory practicals.

All students have the opportunity to analyse real-world data when they undertake a research project.
