With the Master of Fashion (Design) you’ll define your position in the world of fashion, and pitch your work to industry through an innovative body of publicly-showcased work.

We seek to imagine future commercial contexts, create ethical design propositions, and use cross-disciplinary design strategies to drive global and competitive fashion design practices.

You will establish your design, communication and presentation methods and strategies for fashion garments, products, accessories, objects, artefacts, materials, spaces and experiences of and for the body specific to your design practice.

The course is dedicated to advancing your design practice through classes that give you the strategies create specialised propositions, and to target specific areas of commercial markets, research directions and cross disciplinary practice.s. You will choose electives that enable you to customise your study, culminating in a collection, design project, research investigation, or industry placement.

The Diploma of Nursing has been designed to help you build knowledge and skills in a practical learning environment. Through on-campus simulation laboratories and industry placements, you'll graduate ready to help others.

There continues to be a high demand for enrolled nurses, and job expectations in this field are strong. In this nationally-accredited diploma, you will gain the skills to help provide acute, curative and rehabilatative care under the direction of a registered nurse.

You’ll learn to work with patients of all ages in different environments. There is a focus on aged care, community, acute care and mental health. You’ll also learn how to administer intravenous medications and gain the skills in acute care, which involves medical and surgical nursing skills.

The Bachelor of Arts (Photography) integrates theoretical, conceptual and industry based models of photographic practice as they apply to the media and communication industry.

As a professional practitioner with specialist knowledge in photography, you will have the awareness and skills to interpret and shape your field once you graduate. Major studies in information systems include business IT development, information systems strategy and governance, business databases, e-business systems, and business analysis and design.

At RMIT, computer and network engineering are taught together to provide graduates with the opportunity to work in their preferred field.

You will learn and implement the fundamental technologies behind computerised, smart and intelligent digital systems used in modern life. The degree allows you to focus your skills on a range of computer systems and network engineering topics ranging from the Internet of Things (IoT) platforms, sensor networks, high-performance parallel processing, real-time embedded hardware control and data communication networks. You will learn the fundamental topics in both computer and network engineering fields and then choose to specialise in either area to ensure that you graduate work-ready.

You'll gain the knowledge and skills to find better solutions to challenges in design, construction and maintenance of software and hardware components of computing and computer-controlled devices, equipment and systems. This could include communication networks and automation of electrical and electronic systems; audio and visual information acquisition, processing and communications; human-machine interaction, industrial or medical instrumentation and monitoring; and provision of security for computer systems and networks.

In computer engineering, you'll learn how to create new opportunities for businesses by driving new technologies and solutions to make businesses more productive and competitive. From designing and developing new microcontroller-based products and systems, to enhancing functionalities of those that currently exist, there are plenty of possibilities in a world of ever-changing market needs and consumer demands.

During network engineering studies you'll learn about the design, implementation and maintenance of digital communication networks. In this degree, network engineering looks at technology, audio and visual communications over wired and wireless networks, network management and software defined networks, optimising network performance and network security.

You'll have the opportunity to design creative solutions through inspiring and sustainable design-and-build projects, as well as taking part in the Engineers Without Borders Challenge - a humanitarian-focused course offered in all RMIT engineering degrees.

To ensure you graduate job-ready, you'll also have an opportunity to undertake a work-integrated learning (industry experience) elective.

This degree will provide you with the foundation research skills that will support your future career as a scientist or researcher.

In consultation with your discipline honours coordinator and your supervisor, you'll be allocated a project to develop your skills to an advanced level.

The Graduate Diploma in Journalism is designed to enhance your undergraduate qualification with focused study in journalism. This one-year diploma sets you up for a career as a journalist by allowing you to explore all forms of contemporary journalism and put modern practice into its legal, ethical and social context. 

As part of the curriculum, you will present and produce live radio news for community radio station RRR and our live-to-air television news program, Newsline, as well as create text and data reports for our publication The City Journal.

You will work individually with our work placement coordinator to find at least one internship as part of your study.

Upon completing this diploma, you will have developed the skills and knowledge necessary for an entry-level position in journalism and in doing so follow in the footsteps of many of Australia’s award-winning journalists.
