The advanced science degree differs from the Bachelor of Science with the inclusion of advanced-level courses and an honours year. In addition to foundation subjects such as biology, chemistry, physics and maths, you also have access to more than 26 advanced fields of science. During your studies, you will develop the critical and analytical thinking needed for the successful completion of the research-based honours year.

In the engineering degree, you'll have the opportunity to apply yourself to engineering design and enquiry projects, professional engineering practice, engineering and technical management and research. Choose from a wide range of specialisations, from traditional disciplines such as civil engineering and electrical engineering, through to those tailored to modern challenges, such as renewable energy engineering.

UNSW’s Bachelor of Commerce/Arts is a double degree that will equip you with business experience and expertise, combined with the creativity, analytical and critical thinking skills that come with an arts degree. The Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) has been designed with consultation from industry to set you up for lifelong employability. By combining your BCom with a Bachelor of Arts, you can choose from a diverse range of majors and subjects in the arts, humanities and social sciences. You'll develop an in-depth knowledge and breadth of understanding, gaining the tools to think critically, communicate effectively and conduct independent research.

The Master of Engineering Science/Master of Commerce double degree allows you to graduate with two postgraduate qualifications. This degree is ideal for you if you're an early or mid-career professional seeking to advance your career.

In this dual master's program, you’ll study discipline specific courses unique to Engineering or Commerce as well as building skills essential to professional decision making, project and staff management, leadership and strategy.

The Master of Engineering Science is designed for engineers and graduates wishing to develop and expand their knowledge and skills in their current area of expertise. Studying a Master of Engineering Science enables you to meet or maintain professional accreditation standards and provides opportunities for continuing professional development.

The Master of Commerce is innovative, industry-relevant and incorporates the latest thinking in business. You can graduate with two master's after three years of study, however, students with advanced standing will be able to complete their studies up to a year and a half sooner.

The Master of Infectious Diseases Intelligence (MIDI) (Extension) prepares you for a career in health emergencies, outbreaks, infectious diseases risk assessment and emergency response related to infectious diseases and other threats.

You will gain advanced disciplinary knowledge and skills needed for professional practice in control of infectious diseases and emergencies across a range of contexts including ministries and departments of health, government organisations, non-government and voluntary organisations, and primary care and community healthcare services in both public and private sectors. The UNSW Master of International Relations recognises the complexity and the globalised nature of today’s world, and is specifically designed to advance your understanding of global politics and foreign policy.  Through this degree, you’ll critically examine theories and issues in contemporary world politics. You’ll explore international security, great-power rivalry, regional conflicts, nuclear proliferation, global environmental politics, civil conflict and terrorism, human rights, gender politics, international political economy, development and other pressing international issues.

Petroleum Engineers work with oil or gas companies to design, test and implement efficient methods to extract petroleum products from the earth and sea floor. They use their knowledge and skills to make estimations about what is going on thousands of metres below the ground. Petroleum Engineers rely on physical, mathematical and engineering principles to identify and solve problems in exploration, exploitation, drilling and production.

They work closely with other professionals, such as geologists, to locate the dig site, design and build the machines that extract as much oil and gas as possible. They also oversee the removal and processing of the petroleum itself. Petroleum engineers address the economic and management problems associated with the recovery of hydrocarbons and alternative sources of energy from below the Earth’s surface. Petroleum engineers apply practical science to the challenges and problems associated with oil and gas exploration, drilling and petroleum production. In this career you’ll focus on the environment, and how we can meet global energy needs in a long-term, sustainable manner.

In this career you’ll apply knowledge of chemistry, physics, geology and economics to the discovery, development and production of energy and material resources below the Earth’s surface. This knowledge can also be used to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and geothermal resources engineering.

This double degree combines the professional Bachelor of Laws with the Bachelor of Media to give you a unique understanding of how these two industries can influence, persuade and create important lasting change. This Honours degree gives you the opportunity to deepen your knowledge of Construction Management and Property by undertaking a significant research project. You have the option to specialise in building, property development or quantity surveying, or complete a generalist Honours degree that covers all these areas.

Following completion of the Honours year, you may apply to undertake a research degree such as the Master of Philosophy, Masters by Research or a PhD.
