Medical science is the foundation that the practice of medicine is built on. This degree delves into how the human body functions and responds to disease and drug treatments. It incorporates facets of several scientific disciplines to provide you with an extensive understanding of the human body.

The Bachelor of Medical Science explores:

• The structure and chemistry of the cells that make up living organisms (cell & molecular biology and biochemistry)

• The role of bacteria, viruses and other micro-organisms in disease (microbiology)

Medical Immunology

This major will prepare you to unlock better treatments and prevention strategies for immune-related illnesses. This major is particularly beneficial to students who want to pursue a career in the health sciences, particularly in immunology leading to clinical medicine, biomedical research, hospital-based laboratory work and allied health

This double degree combines critical business knowledge from the Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) with aviation management skills, setting you up for a successful, global career in the aviation industry. 

When you combine studies in business and aviation you can supercharge your career in the aviation industry with a unique mix of skills. The commerce component of this double degree provides you with a fundamental understanding of general business principles and allows you to develop specialist knowledge in a business area of your choice.

The aviation management degree shares a common academic core with the flying stream, replacing flight training with a range of courses in management areas such as operations management, aviation economics, law and regulations, airline marketing and safety. Students are exposed to current aviation topics and often work in teams to solve contemporary air transport problems. Learning exercises range from operating a start-up airline in a management simulation to exploring the cognitive abilities of humans in the fast-developing environment of aviation.

UNSW’s Bachelor of Commerce/Arts is a double degree that will equip you with business experience and expertise, combined with the creativity, analytical and critical thinking skills that come with an arts degree. The Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) has been designed with consultation from industry to set you up for lifelong employability. The UNSW Master of Engineering Science in Biomedical Engineering is a two-year full-time postgraduate degree offered by the School of Biomedical Engineering. You’ll gain the expertise to work in influential areas related to human health, like biomechanics, medical device design, drug-delivery systems, radiotherapies, telemedicine, robotics, and cell and tissue engineering.  

The Master of Engineering Science (Biomedical Engineering) is designed for graduate engineers. As part of a globally renowned engineering faculty, you’ll learn to apply your knowledge of engineering to drive solutions that support human health.  

The program is designed for students who already have an accredited engineering degree and want to shift their career towards biomedical engineering. You’ll choose up to four courses from relevant disciplines such as electrical, chemical and mechanical engineering, as well as two foundation courses in the subject area.

If you have a degree or extensive professional experience in a related area, you can apply for credit of up to half the program.
