This double degree is for students who want to pursue a career in the related disciplines of materials engineering and chemical engineering. Where materials scientists concern themselves mainly with the underlying science of high-performance materials such as metals, ceramics, polymers and composites, chemical engineers focus on turning raw materials into useful, marketable products from fertilisers, drugs and plastics, to paper, paint and food. By studying both degrees, you will learn foundational theory and practical skills that will put you at the forefront of development and innovation.

UNSW’s Bachelor of Commerce/Arts is a double degree that will equip you with business experience and expertise, combined with the creativity, analytical and critical thinking skills that come with an arts degree. The Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) has been designed with consultation from industry to set you up for lifelong employability. The Master of Commerce is innovative, industry-relevant and incorporates the latest thinking in business. You can graduate with two master's after three years of study, however, students with advanced standing will be able to complete their studies up to a year and a half sooner.

Students can undertake a five-year full-time double degree leading to the award of the degrees of Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Science (BE (Hons) BSc).

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) provides you with a solid background in mathematics, natural sciences and computing to give you knowledge and skills in whichever specialisation you choose. You'll have the chance to apply yourself to engineering design and enquiry projects, professional engineering practice, and engineering and technical management, as well as conduct research towards your thesis project.

The Bachelor of Science degree allows you to study a wide range of science subjects. You are encouraged to choose a variety of courses in your first year, and later to choose from a broad selection of major options. This gives you time to become more familiar with the different areas of science and to explore possible majors.

Mathematics, statistics and computing skills are essential to advanced financial and commercial modelling, making Advanced Mathematics a natural complement to Commerce. The Bachelor of Science (Advanced Mathematics) (Honours) prepares you for the increasing range of quantitative careers in areas such as finance and technology, while UNSW's Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) is an innovative business degree, designed alongside industry to ensure you are one of Australia's most employable graduates.

This five-year degree allows you to build a foundational understanding of business essentials. Specialise in one of 12 Commerce majors such as Finance, Business Analytics or Economics, gain industry experience, and build a professional portfolio.  Alongside this, you'll undertake advanced coursework with an honours level research project in your chosen Mathematics specialisation.

• At UNSW Science, we focus on delivering the optimal balance of theory and practical work to equip you with the skills and experience to fast-track your career. The SCIF3199 Science Work Placement course gives you the opportunity to gain practical work experience through an internship. Previous work placement students have interned with IT companies, start-ups, government departments and large biomedical and biotechnology companies. Along with new professional skills and connections, you’ll also gain course credit for your work placement.
• Research internship course
• The SCIF2041 Research Internship course gives you the opportunity to complete a short theoretical or experimental research project in a world-leading research team supervised by a member of academic staff. Internships may also involve a placement outside of UNSW, in the form of externally funded research programs.
