UNSW’s Master of Commerce (MCom) is a 1.7 year full-time postgraduate coursework degree. The Master of Actuarial Studies (Extension) equips you with the data analytics and quantitative risk management training for success in an actuarial career, or a career in finance.

The extension program adds four courses to the Master of Actuarial Studies. This allows you to complete the professionally accredited courses to become an actuary, as well as to broaden your knowledge through electives in actuarial studies, risk management, business, or options in mathematics and in computer science. The program is accredited by the Actuaries Institute.

The program has also earned the University-Earned Credit (UEC) program status for Financial Mathematics (FM) exam and Statistics for Risk Modelling (SRM) exam. This UEC program facilitates the pathway for students who pursue the Society of Actuaries (SOA) profession by providing opportunities to earn credit for SOA exams.

You’ll learn to apply advanced analytical techniques, deliver highly valued data analytics, and actionable insights. You’ll also develop a specialist quantitative skill set in actuarial models, financial mathematics, probability, machine learning / artificial intelligence analytics, and commerce.

This degree intertwines mechanical engineering, control engineering and software development, specifically for controlling sophisticated smart machines.

Mechatronic engineers work across all aspects of smart machines – from design and testing through to manufacture in industries such as robotics, medical and assistive technology, human-machine interaction, manufacturing, unmanned aerial and ground vehicles and education.

Through your study at UNSW Engineering, you’ll develop hybrid skills in mechanics, electronics and computing. Our students come to understand the conception, design, construction, maintenance, integration and repair of smart machines. These machines include robots, white goods, cameras, automated test equipment and transport vehicles.

This bachelor’s degree will build your knowledge in areas including building services, computer-controlled plant, manufacturing, robotics and autonomous vehicles. We emphasize the application of engineering science, development and management in these fields. Computational design
This specialisation takes a different approach – resolving design challenges with cutting-edge technologies. Using various computer languages, you’ll encode decisions and test ideas spanning architecture, design, computer science and engineering.

Learning in studio-based classes, you’ll develop unique and in-demand skills, including 3D modelling, digital geometry, parametric design, responsive environments, and form-making. Become familiar with robotic and digital fabrication using 3D printers and laser cutters or Augmented Reality (AR) / Virtual Reality (VR) headsets to design for the metaverse.

Bring your designs to life through problem-solving, theoretical knowledge and practical techniques combined with creative and critical thinking. While you tackle challenges with design thinking and innovative technologies, you’ll be preparing for a career designing future solutions in the built environment.

Communications and Journalism (Major)
In choosing to specialise in communication & journalism for your Bachelor of Media at UNSW, you’ll be armed with the knowledge, skills, and experience you need to make your mark in journalism. The Master of Engineering (Biomedical Engineering) is a two-year full-time degree that'll help you develop the specialised skills and knowledge to build a successful career in Biomedical Engineering and gain a recognised accreditation. This degree is designed for students who don’t have a formal engineering accreditation but have an undergraduate degree in engineering, health or medical sciences.

When you study the Master of Engineering (Biomedical Engineering) you'll expand your knowledge, skills and develop job prospects through a specialised study in the area of Biomedical Engineering. In this degree, you’ll learn about engineering applications in medicine including neuromodulation and bioinstrumentation, biomechanics and rehabilitation, tissue engineering, bioinformatics, as well as medical device design. As a part of your studies, you’ll also complete an open-ended research project.

You’ll be required to complete 60 days of industrial training in Biomedical Engineering and/or other Engineering fields, through this you’ll receive industry exposure and professional practice. Your degree will include a compulsory Master's Thesis which adds a research component to your study. You’ll graduate as an accredited Biomedical Engineer, with an Engineers Australia accreditation. After completing this postgraduate degree you’ll meet national and international benchmarks to take your career to the next level.
