 Industrial Design (Major)

When you study Industrial Design at UNSW, you’ll be inspired and challenged to use insightful and strategic product design for the good of people and the planet.

Through practical studio classes and theoretical courses, you’ll explore design thinking and methodologies. With an ethical and sustainable approach, you’ll develop professional design skills in drawing, ideation, making, and prototyping as you learn about manufacturing technology, materials, sustainability, user interaction and more.

As part of our creative Arts, Design & Architecture community, you’ll be encouraged to collaborate across disciplines, gain professional experience, and take advantage of programs that support entrepreneurship and innovation. Through our strong industry links, you’ll be able to gain real-world professional experience and connect with design leaders. As a graduate of Industrial Design, you’ll also be eligible for membership with the Design Institute of Australia (DIA).

UNSW’s Bachelor of Commerce/Arts is a double degree that will equip you with business experience and expertise, combined with the creativity, analytical and critical thinking skills that come with an arts degree. The Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) has been designed with consultation from industry to set you up for lifelong employability. Telecommunications are responsible for a range of services used on a daily basis including landline and mobile phone services, internet and pay television. The widespread adaptation of high-speed digital transmission methods like fibre optic cabling and mobile telecommunications has resulted in significant changes in the industry.  

Telecommunications Engineers design, develop and maintain all aspects of voice and data communications systems. They work on the theory and application of a broad range of systems such as telephone and data networks, radio and TV, satellites and deep space applications. To get you work ready, you'll apply these skills through 60 days of approved industry training.

When you work in Information Technology you can build company communication networks, safeguard data and information, create and manage databases and ensure the security of business information.

When you study the Master of Information Technology at UNSW you’ll learn to foresee future technology requirements and develop applications, frameworks, products and services in areas such as networking, data mining, robotics and internet services. You'll develop applications, frameworks, products and services for growing areas such as artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.

The Master of Global Health and Master of Public Health is a double degree that provides essential knowledge for those pursuing a public health career internationally in health departments, with non-government organisations (NGOs), and with international and bilateral aid agencies.
