This degree explores the best ways to make use of renewable energy technologies, including solar thermal systems, photovoltaics, wind and biomass. It borrows much of its structure from other areas of engineering, drawing resources from all around UNSW into a consolidated degree supporting learning for this growing industry.

Many elements of this degree are drawn from Photovoltaics & Solar Energy, but it looks beyond the sun as a source of energy, encompassing a wider range of technologies and their uses. It also addresses the important areas of solar architecture and the design of energy-efficient buildings and appliances. To get you work ready, you'll apply your skills through 60 days of approved industry training.

This degree is designed to accommodate the needs of busy professionals from a wide range of backgrounds. You will choose to study fully online, or in blended mode with part-time and full-time options available. The Master of Engineering Science in Geotechnical Engineering and Engineering Geology is a 2-year full-time postgraduate degree at Australia’s leading engineering faculty. The degree was developed to provide a deeper understanding of geotechnical theory to solve practical problems in areas including soil mechanics, rock mechanics, slope stability, foundation design, earthworks and dam engineering.

This degree is designed for students who already have a four-year accredited engineering degree and want to broaden their job prospects through cross-training, re-training or specialisation. This double degree is designed for students who want to pursue a career in biomedical engineering through the technical base of materials science and engineering. It focuses on the development, processing and application of materials used in many areas of biomedical engineering.

A biomedical engineer can look at a medical problem and analyse it in engineering terms to find a solution. Materials science is the underlying science of high-performance materials such as metals, ceramics, polymers and composites.

You'll learn theoretical and practical skills that will put you at the forefront of innovation in developing systems to maintain and enhance life, as well as how to design body parts or tissues, develop artificial organs, improve robotic surgery, invent health technologies and more. It involves a four-year Bachelor of Engineering in Materials Science (Honours) and a Master of Biomedical Engineering in the fifth year.
