UNSW’s Bachelor of Commerce/Arts is a double degree that will equip you with business experience and expertise, combined with the creativity, analytical and critical thinking skills that come with an arts degree. Both degrees offer flexibility, allowing you to shape your degree to match your ambitions and interests.

The Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) has been designed with consultation from industry to set you up for lifelong employability. By combining your BCom with a Bachelor of Arts, you can choose from a diverse range of majors and subjects in the arts, humanities and social sciences. You'll develop an in-depth knowledge and breadth of understanding, gaining the tools to think critically, communicate effectively and conduct independent research.

The Bachelor of Design/Bachelor of Media is a four-year double degree that shows you how to enlighten others with creative thinking and persuasive communications. Learn strategies to interest, inform, and inspire others while challenging conventions and designing new solutions to old problems.  

Whether your interest is in graphics, textiles, visualisation or object design, creating spaces or user experiences, rethinking everyday products and services, or writing code to develop future focused design ideas – you'll see how design can influence the future.

 Industrial Design (Major)

When you study Industrial Design at UNSW, you’ll be inspired and challenged to use insightful and strategic product design for the good of people and the planet.

Through practical studio classes and theoretical courses, you’ll explore design thinking and methodologies. With an ethical and sustainable approach, you’ll develop professional design skills in drawing, ideation, making, and prototyping as you learn about manufacturing technology, materials, sustainability, user interaction and more.

As part of our creative Arts, Design & Architecture community, you’ll be encouraged to collaborate across disciplines, gain professional experience, and take advantage of programs that support entrepreneurship and innovation. Through our strong industry links, you’ll be able to gain real-world professional experience and connect with design leaders. As a graduate of Industrial Design, you’ll also be eligible for membership with the Design Institute of Australia (DIA).

This double degree combines specialised knowledge in Engineering with the variety of possibilities available in an Arts degree. The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) will provide you with a solid background in mathematics, natural sciences and computing to give you knowledge and skills in whichever engineering discipline specialisation you choose.

In the Arts component, you’ll choose a major from a range of disciplines within the humanities and social sciences, including languages, arts, history, philosophy and business. You’ll develop transferable skills and in-depth knowledge, and gain the tools to think critically, communicate effectively and conduct independent research.

The Bachelor of Media/Bachelor of Arts is a four-year double degree that develops influential communication skills and defines a life purpose suited to your passions and interests. Explore what fascinates you and prepare to think differently about global issues like climate change, human rights, and the ethical future of technology. The Bachelor of Computer Science/Fine Arts double degree provides technical and creative foundations for developing and using computer graphics and coded media. It allows you to specialise in either the technical or creative strand of computer graphics and associated fields.

Designed for students aspiring to work in the creative fields, the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) is for those who are open minded, curious, and inventive and who wish to immerse themselves in their creative practice. The BFA is home to distinctive specialisations in Animation and Moving Image, Art Theory, Music, and Visual Arts, each of which is led by experts in your field and supported by specialist facilities.   

You'll build technical skills and knowledge, learning from experts in practical and theoretical classes. And with strong industry connections embedded in each specialisation, you'll develop your career throughout the entire degree.

This exciting degree focuses on the science and practice of air and space flight; the design, development, testing and production of aerospace vehicles; the maintenance and operation of aircraft; and aerospace research. To accommodate the international nature of the aerospace industry, you will receive the same depth of understanding as professional aerospace training programs in other industrial countries.

Our Aerospace Engineering degree focuses on airborne vehicles to meet future employment prospects in Australia (like aerodynamics, flight mechanics, propulsion and structures). The final-year course involves a team project integrating all aspects of aircraft design to meet a defined mission specification. To get you work ready, you'll apply your skills through 60 days of approved industry training.

We rely heavily on our five senses to navigate life: touch, taste, smell, hearing and sight. Each of these senses play a vital role in our day-to-day lives. Problems with eyesight can have a profound impact on an individual’s life. Through optometry, many vision problems and eye diseases can be corrected or managed, restoring sight to people from all walks of life.

Optometrists diagnose vision problems, eye diseases and other eye health issues. These highly skilled professionals correct poor vision and manage or slow degenerative eye diseases with corrective lenses, optical aids, therapy or medication.

The Bachelor of Vision Science/Master of Clinical Optometry provides you with the clinical skills and training required to gain registration to practice optometry. It combines the theoretical discipline of vision science with the clinical expertise of primary eye care. 

The UNSW Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Education (Secondary) is a four-year, full-time (or part-time equivalent) double degree that provides you with the skills to pursue a career in secondary-school teaching, specialising in science and mathematics. After completing the degree, you’ll have a professional teaching qualification as well as a flagship science degree from our science faculty, UNSW Science.

You’ll learn how science is taught and gain an understanding of STEM subject areas such as environmental science, physics or mathematics. When you graduate, you’ll be prepared for a career that inspires the next generation to pursue their skills and passions in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).

The UNSW Bachelor of Education (Secondary) is a recognised qualification in initial teacher education. You'll graduate qualified to embark on a career as a secondary school teacher in both government and non-government secondary schools throughout Australia and overseas.

The Bachelor of Politics, Philosophy & Economics (PPE)/Law draws together the perspectives of four crucial academic disciplines to address professional demands, global trends and contemporary social issues, such as justice, inequality and climate change.

Alongside courses from the disciplines of Politics & International Relations, Philosophy, and Economics, the UNSW PPE degree explores the synergies and tensions between these fields and trains you to assess their relevance in meeting humanity's most complex challenges.

Your Law degree will complement your PPE studies as you develop a thorough understanding of legal frameworks, processes and systems alongside a wide range of experiential learning opportunities. You’ll gain exceptional skills that stand out to employers with practical experience, including mooting, an internship or clinical program, or international exchange.

Through the Bachelor of Psychology (Honours)/Law double degree, you'll develop excellent analytical skills, a capacity for scholarly research and effective oral and written communication skills that will prepare you for a range of careers. You’ll gain the practical skills to make a genuine impact on society by pursuing a career as a psychologist or lawyer. Through real-world experiences, including internships, field trips and practice in our on-campus legal clinics, you’ll have extensive opportunities to apply your knowledge in practical situations.

Our Law degree encourages a commitment to personal and professional development, ethical practice and social responsibility. This professional degree meets the requirements for accreditation with the Legal Professional Admission Board, while the fifth-year courses in Psychology meet the requirements for provisional registration as a psychologist nationally and associate membership in the Australian Psychological Society.

In the Psychology (Honours) degree, you’ll conduct a major research project under the guidance of one of our expert academic supervisors.
