Pharmaceutical scientists are experts in the chemistry, biology, and biotechnology required to design and develop medicines. UniSA’s Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science is the only degree of its kind in South Australia, equipping you with skills which are globally relevant.

You may also be eligible for the only double degree of its kind in Australia - a Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science, Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) - which you can do with just two extra years of study.

• This degree places a unique emphasis on the development and commercialisation of a range of pharmaceutical products, such as injections, tablets, creams and ointments.

In your first year you’ll develop an understanding of basic sciences. You’ll learn about career development and factors influencing the pharmaceutical industry domestically and internationally.

During the second and third years you’ll focus on:

• pharmaceutical sciences (including formulation)
• pharmacology and pharmacokinetics
• drug discovery, development and commercialisation

You’ll also get the opportunity to fine-tune your study to your own personal interests and career aspirations when you choose from a range of specialist courses during your final two years.

You may choose to specialise in areas such as:

• research and development (including drug discovery)
• manufacturing and pharmaceutical chemistry (including quality control)
• drug development (including clinical trials)
• business (including sales, marketing, legal, regulatory and drug information)

This one-year Honours degree (or two years part-time) will introduce you to high-level research and help you develop the skills necessary to engage in rigorous research and analysis in your selected creative discipline. It can be used in preparation for postgraduate and PhD studies or research and leadership roles.

What you'll learn
You will learn skills necessary for conducting research in disciplines including Contemporary Art, Communication Design, Illustration Animation, Product Design, Cultural Studies, Film and Television, Journalism and Professional Writing, Communication and Media, Creative Writing, Social Media, Screen Studies and more. You will apply these skills to frame and develop your own research project, producing an outcome that responds to your research questions, project aims and objectives. Outcomes are visual and/or written, as appropriate for your disciplinary focus and project. Throughout your research studies you will be supervised by experienced research academics.
 

This degree will develop your knowledge of the global business environment and enable you to maximise your career development opportunities and employment prospects. You will benefit from a range of experience-based learning opportunities, including overseas study trips and business mentorships with a senior business leader through the Executive Partners Program.

What you'll learn
This two year program comprises 16 courses including 4 electives and an industry placement or project. You will start with seven core courses common to all specialisations in the IMBA. Through these you will develop advanced skills and expertise in areas of international management including:

Your undergraduate degree will begin with core courses in areas such as analytics, accounting and economic theory. These will give you a solid grasp of business fundamentals that you can apply to a range of careers. You’ll then branch out into your specialisation, and learn the latest in areas such as macroeconomics, economics of public policy and analysis; portfolio and fund management; and international currency and banking markets. You can also embark on an overseas study tour, undertake an industry placement, or work on an industry-related research project.

Your postgraduate studies will provide you the opportunity to sharpen your technical ability, legal knowledge and professional expertise. Aside from learning new and relevant legislation, regulations and codes of practice, you’ll also enhance your skills in building and managing client relationships – a critical focus area for future financial advisers.

What you'll learn

Sustainability, emerging materials, new technologies and research are focal points of this graduate diploma. You will also study sustainable design theory and practice; social, cultural, economic and technological advancements and their impact on sustainable design; and research methodologies.

This graduate diploma comprises design research studio classes, sustainable design theory classes, research methods classes, and a selection of electives.

In your specialisation you will focus on finance and financial markets. Specific areas include financial markets and institutions: international currency and banking markets; portfolio and fund management; macroeconomics; corporate valuation; and financial risk analysis and management.

Communication Design (often referred to as Visual Communication or Graphic Design) involves creating innovative identities, messages, ideas and images that inform, motivate and educate across a range of sectors, from logo and identity design, to posters, apps and package design. Communication Design contributes to contemporary society through visual strategy, problem solving and design research in various areas of communication.

This degree has been the starting point for many of the country’s leading communication and graphic designers, and it will prepare you for a vibrant career in the design industry. Taught by established academics and designers, you will graduate with an industry-relevant qualification.

A focus on practical learning integrated with design thinking means you will gain the skills and knowledge needed to design stimulating, effective visual communications, and the confidence to create across a range of communication platforms and contexts.

• The Bachelor of Design (Communication Design) is practice-based, involving creative and critical thinking integrated with craft and technical skills. Throughout this degree, you will learn how to respond effectively to communication problems through design as you develop the skills to articulate ideas and approaches to work independently and in a team.

What you'll learn

Your undergraduate degree will start with core courses in communication, where you will create, develop and deliver communication strategies for traditional and online media. You will also develop writing skills for a range of platforms, including traditional media, social media and digital platforms.

You will:

• Learn how to manage media and public relations in contemporary society, including the analytical thinking required for strategic planning and communication management 
• Study emerging trends within the communications industry, along with media law and ethics
• Major in Communication and Media covering strategic communication, media management, public relations, social media, advertising, and professional communication
• Select a sub-major in areas including digital media, film and television, journalism, linguistics, marketing or social media
• Undertake an industry internship in your third year
• Study courses in areas such as campaigns and crises; digital design; communication, media and creative industries; and digital entrepreneurship
• Undertake an industry-supervised project or research thesis in the final year of your masters degree.

Through your postgraduate studies, you’ll build your professional skills in social and digital media management, public relations and strategic communication. You’ll also:

• Develop your knowledge of the social and political aspects of communication underpinned by advanced research methods and planning skills

This Graduate Diploma is designed and taught by academics actively involved in collaborative industry research. You will study core courses in HRM and specialised topics such as recruitment and selection, employment law, and people, leadership and performance.
