What you'll learn
This degree is made up of 40 courses. You will do 24 courses in law and 16 courses in sport and recreation management.

Laws (Honours)
As a UniSA Law student, you’ll gain valuable skills from day one, including in reasoning, reporting, analysis, negotiation, communication and advocacy. You will also experience what it's like to argue a case and provide legal advice.

Throughout your degree you will study core courses that teach you the fundamental legal concepts that underpin the Australian legal system. Courses such as torts, contracts, criminal law and constitutional law will give you a good understanding of basic legal principles.

Our Law program also features courses that build your leadership skills, intercultural communication, project management and capacity for community engagement.

You will have the opportunity to complete your GDLP in your final year of study, in addition to practical learning experiences including mooting, negotiation, and witness examination. You will also engage in a Community Justice project, high-level research or an industry placement, ensuring you’ll be prepared for legal practise upon graduation.

Sport and Recreation Management
You will study core courses such as Business and Society, Management and Organisation and Marketing Principles: Trading and Exchange. You will also learn the latest in specialist areas such as:

• sport and recreation facilities management
• leadership in recreation and sport
• recreation planning in the urban environment

In your law studies you can undertake a Community Justice Project, practice advocacy and negotiation, or gain industry experience through participation in our Legal Advice Clinic or a professional placement. You’ll also be involved in mock-trials in our moot court, learning what it’s like to act as an advocate and argue a case before a judge. 

In your arts studies you will explore the global contexts of politics and history which includes Australia’s role domestically, and within the broader currents, of regional and global politics. The expertise you gain in your arts major, in addition to your law studies, will further improve your employment prospects. Our lecturers are world-class researchers1 and under their guidance you will also develop strong skills in analysis, advanced writing, communication, and research and problem solving.

Arts (History and Global Politics)
The History and Global Politics major will illuminate the patterns and processes that have shaped our societies over time and help you analyse and predict events in our contemporary world. You will study areas such as:

• Framing international politics through film and documentaries
• Global aid and development
• The politics of environmental change in Australia and Asia
• World history trends and transformations
• Australia in the Asian Century
• Marginalisation in world affairs
• Power and resistance
• The US in world affairs

This program is approved by the Financial Adviser Standards and Ethics Authority (FASEA) and will equip you with the education requirements to practise as a qualified financial adviser.

What you'll learn
This program consists of 16 advanced financial planning courses, which you can complete in 1.5-2 years of full-time study (or part-time equivalent). Your qualification will complement your industry experience and advance your knowledge in specialist areas such as investment management, estate planning, superannuation, and tax. You’ll study compulsory bridging courses that have been outlined in FASEA’s education requirements including ethics and professionalism, and financial advice regulatory and legal obligations. As a graduate, you can be confident you’ll leave with the essential education requirements to practise as a qualified financial adviser.

What you'll learn
The MBA degree comprises eight compulsory core courses, three electives and a final capstone experience. The MBA academic year is divided into four study periods of 10 weeks each. Courses are delivered in the evenings over the 10-week period, or can be studied in intensive mode if you require more flexibility.

All MBA courses have an applied focus. They draw on real-life business case studies, and you are encouraged to draw on your own industry and workplace-based scenarios for assessment tasks. Courses also feature visiting industry leaders, who will lead discussions around contemporary business problems.

Hands-on teaching and learning is a focus of this degree, and as a contemporary art student you will have access to a comprehensive range of facilities in custom-built studios and workshops. Alongside these are studies in art history, theory, and courses in how to grow your career and opportunities to connect with industry partners in the City West cultural precinct. • Apply design processes and strategies to a range of interior architecture projects, many of which are professional projects with real clients; alternatively you may choose to complete workshop-based courses where you can create furniture prototypes.

This hands-on postgraduate qualification will equip you with an advanced understanding of the innovative, changing world of design. You will study emerging trends and technologies, contemporary design issues, construction challenges and management.   

With a strong focus on construction challenges, design principles and client considerations, you will build on your previously acquired knowledge and skill set.  

In addition to fundamental practical skills, a key part of your learning will relate to advanced research skills and you will graduate with the cognitive skills needed to review and analyse research. You will also complete an industry placement as part of your studies.

What you'll learn

You will also develop design proposals, foster client relations, survey building sites, develop research methodologies, and undertake a substantial research-based project.

The first year will include design research studio classes, a specialized design communication course, an introduction to sustainable design, research methods, business practices, and a choice of electives.
