Learn water and environmental engineering theories to support our all-important waterways, resources and infrastructure. In this degree you will develop the skills specific to the water sector of civil engineering.

In this degree you’ll develop sophisticated skills in engineering research methods and project management which you will use on a major civil engineering design project, with industry representatives as your clients. You will also complete a master thesis.

This honours degree has been designed for students who have successfully completed a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, such as a Bachelor of Mathematics or a Bachelor of Science with a substantial mathematics focus.

During your degree you will complete a year-long project in a major industrial, scientific or commercial project in applied mathematics, guided by an academic supervisor.

You will develop skills in literature search and review, methodologies, experimental design, data analysis and research ethics. You will have an opportunity to undertake a research problem or advanced study in mathematics through your thesis units.

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Electrical and Mechatronic) will see you explore the physics-based modeling and simulation of electromechanical systems. You will learn how to analyse, design and implement electromechanical systems using cutting-edge software platforms and collaborative digital environments.

In the Master of Engineering (Engineering Management) program, you will learn the latest theories and professional skills related to engineering management and apply them to the core areas, covering project management, supply chain management, quality management, operation management and resource management. You will also be immersed in practical industry operation procedures to suit becoming an engineering manager as a future career path.

What you Learn

In the first year of the program students gain an appreciation of various operational aspects of managing the operations of an engineering organisation. This includes studies in areas such as total quality management, research data analysis, principles of project management, engineering economic analysis, sustainable development and design practice, intelligent production systems, and leadership with elective courses in energy and society, robotics and automation and human resource management, strategic procurement and others.

In the second year of the program students undertake more advanced studies which emphasise the strategic management of engineering operations. This includes consideration of issues relating to supply chain management, resource management, project planning con control, and operation management. The program provides an integrative management of these various strategic aspects of engineering operations.

This industry-relevant postgraduate qualification is for students who have already completed a three-year bachelor degree and would like to increase their employment prospects with an early childhood qualification.

The curriculum is practical in nature and is solely focused on the education of children from birth to eight years of age. Practical learning is a major component and you will complete four supervised placements in childcare, preschool/kindergarten and junior primary schools, totalling 80 days.

The Bachelor of Secondary Education (Honours) is a four-year professional teaching degree that will equip you with the practical skills and theoretical knowledge to thrive as a contemporary educator in secondary school settings.

What you'll learn

You will learn the skills and develop the knowledge to teach adolescent students from Years 7-12 in the major and sub-major subjects of your choice. You will have the opportunity to develop a broad and coherent body of knowledge through the following three components of the program:

• Curriculum studies – includes courses that introduce and consolidate the specific teaching content of your major and sub-major learning areas
• Professional experience courses – placement courses, which allow you to develop and practice your professional knowledge and skills in secondary classroom settings
• Education studies – includes courses that explore more broadly what it means to be an educator of adolescent students

Civil and structural engineers are responsible for the infrastructure and resources that keep our cities, towns and rural areas functioning. They focus on the design and construction of buildings, bridges and other structural components of infrastructure projects.

What you'll learn

In your first year, you will develop a strong, general foundation in engineering before commencing your civil engineering courses in second year. During your third year, you will start taking introductory structural engineering courses, such as structural analysis and steel and timber design, with your final year primarily focused on specialised structural courses including earthquake and masonry engineering and cold-formed steel design.

At least half of your honours year will involve a major project. Projects are generally supported by industry clients or based in a research area like the Sustainable Infrastructure and Resource Management concentration. Our UniSA STEM Professional Practice Program allows you to apply the skills and knowledge you've acquired throughout your degree in real-world settings.

You will study various aspects of managing the operations of an engineering organisation, including quality management, research data analysis, principles of project management, engineering economic analysis, intelligent production systems, sustainable development and design practice, and people, and leadership and performance with elective courses in energy and society, robotics and automation, talent acquisition and development, strategic procurement and others.

The qualification comprises studies in quality management, project management, human resource management, leadership, intelligent production systems including the use of robotics and automation and energy management.

Construction Managers supervise various design and construction projects from beginning to end. This degree will prepare you to pursue a career in this competitive and highly sought-after field.

What you'll learn

In your first year, you will develop a strong, general foundation in engineering. You’ll then move into your civil engineering major. From the third year onwards you will commence construction management courses, such as Construction Scheduling and Advanced Construction Management.
 

This industry-relevant postgraduate qualification is for students who have already completed a three-year bachelor degree and would like to increase their employment prospects with a teaching qualification specialising in secondary education. The curriculum is solely focused on the education of children from Year Seven to Year 12.

Practical learning is a major component and you will complete 60 days of professional experience placements, starting in the first year.
