This industry-relevant postgraduate qualification is for students who have already completed a three-year bachelor degree and would like to increase their employment prospects with an early childhood qualification.

The curriculum is practical in nature and is solely focused on the education of children from birth to eight years of age. Practical learning is a major component and you will complete four supervised placements in childcare, preschool/kindergarten and junior primary schools, totalling 80 days.

The Graduate Diploma in Aviation is a highly disciplined, technical flight training program at Parafield Airport. It is delivered in conjunction with the professional flight instructors at Flight Training Adelaide, our industry partner.

What you'll Learn

This diploma comprises seven courses delivered with our industry partner Flight Training Adelaide. You will study them at the same time as the Bachelor of Aviation (Pilot).

As part of this diploma you will sit the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) theory exams. Your studies in the Bachelor of Aviation (Pilot) will help prepare you for these exams.

When you have developed the flight skills and knowledge – and passed the CASA theory exams – you can test for your Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) and Command Instrument Rating (CIR) flight.

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Electrical and Mechatronic) will see you explore the physics-based modeling and simulation of electromechanical systems. In your first year you will develop a strong, general foundation in engineering including computer programming, applied mathematics and physics. As your studies progress you will develop advanced knowledge and skills in dynamics and controls, fluid mechanics and thermodynamics, mechanical system design and digital prototyping, and advanced materials and renewable energy technology.

Our UniSA STEM Professional Practice Program allows you to apply the skills and knowledge you've acquired throughout your degree in real-world settings.

At least half of the honours year will involve a major project. You will take the lead as an engineer in a project environment, working with industry, a government organisation, or an academic research area. There is also the option to do a full-semester internship.

Civil and structural engineers are responsible for the infrastructure and resources that keep our cities, towns and rural areas functioning. They focus on the design and construction of buildings, bridges and other structural components of an infrastructure.

In this degree you’ll develop sophisticated skills in engineering research methods and project management which you will use on a major civil engineering design project, with industry representatives as your clients. You will also complete a master thesis.

You will learn advanced structural and geotechnical civil engineering, developing the skills to:

• apply and synthesise civil engineering theories in solving practical infrastructure problems 

• create and design models to be used in infrastructure design and analysis 

• adapt data analysis methods at an advanced level

During your third year, you will start taking introductory structural engineering courses, such as structural analysis and steel and timber design, with your final year primarily focused on specialised structural courses including earthquake and masonry engineering and cold-formed steel design.

At least half of your honours year will involve a major project. Projects are generally supported by industry clients or based in a research area like the Sustainable Infrastructure and Resource Management concentration. You will study various aspects of managing the operations of an engineering organisation, including quality management, research data analysis, principles of project management, engineering economic analysis, intelligent production systems, sustainable development and design practice, and people, and leadership and performance with elective courses in energy and society, robotics and automation, talent acquisition and development, strategic procurement and others.

The qualification comprises studies in quality management, project management, human resource management, leadership, intelligent production systems including the use of robotics and automation and energy management.

This industry-relevant degree is a four-year professional degree solely focused on teaching, that will equip you with the practical skills and theoretical knowledge to thrive as a contemporary educator in childcare, pre-school, and junior primary settings.

The curriculum is practical in nature and you will begin work placements during your first six months. This focus on industry experience will continue throughout your studies, and on graduation you will have completed 110 days of field-based placements. You will also develop an in-depth understanding of the principles and concepts relating to early childhood development and learning, as well as leadership and advocacy in matters relating to early childhood.
