The two-year diploma program focuses on teaching the students how to engage with people in order to assist them under various circumstances. Social Work Diploma teaches the students to work towards enhancing the well-being of individuals, families and communities and learn the skills for social work practice and develop a multicultural focus.

The Child and Youth Care Diploma offered at Bow Valley College are suited for the students who wish to work toward the social and emotional wellbeing of the youth and young people by working in community, educational, organizational and familial settings. The program prepares the students to work with the youth and children undergoing emotional and behavioral changes. They also assist learners in understanding the scope of Child and Youth Care Counselors, including how to make therapeutic relationships to foster healthy children, youth and families, within their life-space.

On the completion of their graduation, the students can find themselves working in residential settings, community centers, schools, programs for street-involved youth, addiction services, parent-child education settings, etc.

Every business exports and imports goods and services. Supply chain management professionals determine the best combinations of outsourcing and procurement. In this major, you'll learn the various aspects of business operations including procurement, logistics and transportation, supplier relations, and inventory management. With this knowledge, you can contribute to the operational efficiency of a company. 

Time commitment

• This is a two-year (four terms) diploma program. A full course load is five courses per term. Students may elect to take fewer courses each term, however, it will take longer to complete the program.

Learning options

• The program consists of core business courses and major-specific courses. Core courses are available both in-class and online. All major courses are available in-class with only some courses available online.

Co-operative Education Program (Optional)

• Co-op provides eligible Business Administration Diploma students with an opportunity to gain work-related experience for one term through an assisted job search. Co-op offers students relevant experience to boost employment opportunities, develop professional skills and experience, network with employers, and earn money.  
• The Co-op Work Term process aligns with the competitive nature of job search. To be accepted into the Co-op Program, applicants must meet all eligibility criteria and follow the application process. Candidates are responsible for demonstrating a high level of professional and program expectations. Not all students accepted into the Co-op Program are guaranteed a Co-op Work Term position. 

University Transfer (Supply Chain Specific)

• Transferability is available towards SAIT's Bachelor of Business Administration degree, Supply Chain Management major (upon acceptance by SAIT).

The one-year certificate program focuses on the practical skills and knowledge about health care fundamentals, medical terminology, and current computer and software skills. The course is also available online, making it easier for the students to pursue it from home.  During the course, the students gain the skills needed to manage the flow of electronic and paper-based information in a medical office setting.

The program teaches the students the principles of search engine optimization, user experience design, web development techniques, integrated media strategies and analytics, along with important communication and marketing skills so that the students can expand further in the digital realm.

Dental Business Assistant Certificate prepares the students to manage and maintain the workflow in the office of a dental practitioner smoothly. The graduates learn about business communication, billing, bookkeeping, computer skills, financial management, dental science, maintaining patient records and charting. 

The one year (thirty weeks) certificate program provides the graduates excellent employment opportunities with a high recruitment rate at the end of the course. 
 

The Legal Assistant diploma is a two-year program and is suited for the students who wish to work with lawyers on a variety of legal matters. The course prepares the students to have strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills, an understanding of confidentiality, superior computer skills, prioritization and effective time management. The Legal Assistant Capstone course brings theory and practice together in a law office simulation.

The course delivery is flexible and offers the students an option to study online. The students are provided support and feedback via email from an online instructor. 
 

Disability Studies Diploma is a sixteen-month course that prepares the students to support people with disabilities and create diverse and inclusive communities. The students on the completion of their graduation can work in multiple services that assist people with disabilities like not-for-profit agencies, educational institutions or families. 

The program teaches the students the skills to create the latest mobile, gaming and computer applications and transform their ideas into reality. The students gain the practical experience while pursuing software development, an understanding of the industry standards of planning, developing, and quality assurance testing and learn the fundamentals of computer logic and emerging trends of user experience and the internet of things.
