In this program, students focus on computer programming, web development and leveraging data to help organizations make meaningful business decisions. Throughout the program, students learn how to write code using a variety of languages such as Arduino, ASP.NET, C#, C++, Java, JavaScript, PHP, SQL and Swift. Students gain experience developing software for diverse platforms including embedded systems, desktop, mobile, and mainframe systems. In addition, students are exposed to advanced concepts including systems analysis, Business Intelligence (BI), application security, data structures, and game and simulation programming. With a strong emphasis on business and entrepreneurial values, students gain experience in problem solving, troubleshooting and systems building through a series of applied assignments, projects, and co-op work terms.

Students in this program prepare to assume positions as certified dental assistants, level II. Corresponding with the level of study and in accordance with current legislation, students of this program experience a variety of practical experiences including placements in the Georgian College Oral Health Clinic and in the community, involving all clinical roles, specialty practice, education, health promotion, business administration and treatment coordination. Students also learn to fabricate dental appliances and manipulate a variety of dental materials. To emphasize how dental assistants are vital members of the oral healthcare team, students explore the meaning of professionalism, and develop their own professional identity.

Students focus their learning on acquiring knowledge and skills in administrative-based courses by the use of diverse technology to be able to effectively perform in an executive environment. Students have the opportunity to develop supervisory, leadership, and training skills.

Students in all Office Administration streams enroll in a common first semester. As they gain experience and background, they have course selection options to complement prescribed office administration curriculum and further their interests, skills, and career goals.

Building automation systems don't just control the basics: they regulate airflow, monitor energy use and are integrated with security, lighting and other building systems to deliver comfort, safety and energy efficiency. Today’s buildings are increasingly complex, and they differ in use and size, but also in operating hours, comfort levels and environmental conditions. Offices, residences, hotels, schools and administrative buildings all have different requirements. Optimal building services technology is the result of appropriate systems design and integration during planning, construction, commissioning and operation.

This advanced diploma program in Building Automation provides students the technical skills they need for success in the job market. Students learn to:

• Install, program, adjust and maintain building automation systems
• Program and install sensors, actuators and controllers
• Collect data for use in real-time or for archiving in a central server
• Work with building software platforms that interconnect different systems

Graduates will have a diverse set of skills and abilities that will also prepare them for "green" careers focused on energy efficiency, renewable energy and the environment. This program provides a skill set that is in high demand in both the construction industry and the controls and automation industry.

Students in this program prepare for work with architects, engineers, designers, and project managers as an integral part of the team developing, presenting, and executing building designs. The program equips a student with comprehensive understanding of current competitive architectural and construction environments that challenge professionals in the field, including traditional and emerging construction technologies and materials, the current codes and standards, and business and entrepreneurial essential strategies. Various aspects of architectural design are present in a continuous stream throughout the curriculum, starting from design fundamentals and ending in the third year with the two-semester major architectural project. These projects are supported by courses dedicated to industry-standard computer applications, such as Autodesk® AutoCAD® and Revit®, and leading-edge technologies related to Building Information Modeling, such as virtual reality and building scanning.

In this program, students are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and professionalism necessary to conduct applied research in sectors such as marketing, tourism, media, government, public affairs, education, health, non-profit and social service agencies. Students are provided with hands-on experience and focus on the entire research process. Students formulate research questions, develop research designs, collect information from primary and secondary sources, perform data analysis, interpret results, communicate findings, and develop strategic recommendations. Additional features of the program include an emphasis on traditional and emerging qualitative and quantitative methodologies, the use of technology, effective communication processes, and adherence to professional and ethical standards.

In this program, students gain the knowledge, skills, and attitudes they need to become marketing professionals who can effectively manage a range of tasks and functions within business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C), not-for-profit, and government organizations. Using a broad range of analytical and creative approaches, students gain a wide understanding of marketing management fundamentals as they focus on concepts related to advertising, promotion, public relations, marketing research and data analytics, online/digital marketing, and international marketing management. As a result, students gain valuable insight into all aspects of marketing from an online, local, and international perspective.

Students in this program prepare to work alongside architects, designers and project managers. While developing skills in architectural drafting and design as well as an understanding of the building design and construction process, students take courses in computer-aided drafting and project design, building codes, contracts and specifications. Teamwork and project-based learning is emphasized. This program is common with the first four semesters of the Architectural Technology program and graduates may choose to continue into the third year of that program.

In this program, students develop and foster creative and artistic ability in a variety of studio areas. Students are engaged and challenged to achieve their individual goals and objectives as artists within a variety of traditional and non-traditional media. Students experience both the practical and theoretical components of fine arts. Students gain professional and entrepreneurial skills for professional practice and self employment necessary to successfully operate within the various professions of fine art.

Students acquire the knowledge and skills required to perform in the administrative health field. Students learn document production, medical terminology, transcription, electronic health records, human anatomy, as well as courses in communication and social sciences. Students have the opportunity for hands-on learning.

Initially, students in all Office Administration streams enroll in a common first semester. Eligible students in this program are offered the opportunity for office experience within the health services community.
