This program offers the student an introduction to college studies, with emphasis on critical thinking and analytical skills developed while studying courses in the Social Sciences and Humanities. Many students use the General Arts and Science program as a transition to further studies at either the college or university level. Students can also choose to continue from the one-year certificate to the two-year diploma in General Arts and Science.

Feed your dreams! This one year program trains students to work in professional kitchens regionally, nationally, and internationally. Students learn fundamental food knowledge and develop skills of food preparation and presentation that prepares them for lifelong career success with strong industry connections. Students practice professionalism, culinary and management skills, safety and sanitation, nutrition, product knowledge and identification while applying their skills in a hands on learning environment. This program provides the in school portion of the cook apprenticeship program of the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development.

In this program, students are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and professionalism necessary to conduct applied research in sectors such as marketing, tourism, media, government, public affairs, education, health, non-profit and social service agencies. Students are provided with hands-on experience and focus on the entire research process. Students formulate research questions, develop research designs, collect information from primary and secondary sources, perform data analysis, interpret results, communicate findings, and develop strategic recommendations. Additional features of the program include an emphasis on traditional and emerging qualitative and quantitative methodologies, the use of technology, effective communication processes, and adherence to professional and ethical standards.

Flight Attendants are ambassadors of the passenger experience in the Airline industry. In this program, students focus on the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to provide exceptional passenger service and deal effectively with the travelling public. Through theory and hands on experience, students gain knowledge of the various duties and responsibilities of a flight attendant and how to provide quality service and leadership. Emphasis is placed on passenger safety and use of emergency equipment through simulated experiences.

This one-year post-graduate diploma program is directed towards students wishing to pursue goldsmithing or silversmithing as a self-directed career.

Students will refine their jewellery and metalworking skills, develop their design abilities and acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to design, produce and market jewellery, flatware and hollowware. Students specialize in either goldsmithing or silversmithing. Within their area of specialization, students choose a number of advanced techniques to concentrate on, and develop the in-depth knowledge and skills that would allow them to work independently or as designers.

• Goldsmith - A goldsmith is one who would design, as well as produce, jewelry as an employee or in one's own studio.
• Silversmith - A silversmith is one who would design, as well as produce, hollowware and flatware items as an employee or in one's own studio.

Program Learning Outcomes
The graduate has reliably demonstrated the ability to:

• Design, develop and produce a portfolio of personal work (jewellery and metalwork) and a skills inventory;
• Be adaptable in applying various technical skills and aesthetic development to a wide variety of jobs in the jewellery and fine metals field;
• Respond to style and marketing trends in the industry;
• Plan and execute marketing and sales strategies;
• Design and fabricate products that would produce sales and marketing opportunities in wholesale and/or retail venues, such as Kempenfest, Muskoka Arts & Crafts, galleries and custom work;
• Recognize and identify materials as to their suitability for gem materials;
• Cut and polish various shapes of cabochon and faceted stones;
• Use advanced gem cutting and polishing techniques, including channel inlay and carving, and incorporate finished products into jewellery and hollowware;
• Understand the history and tradition of vessels and other regalia used in various religious rituals and domestic occasions;
• Use technical skills and dexterity in a variety of advanced metal working techniques as listed in the course descriptions, including reactive metal techniques, lathe work and machining, knifemaking and toolmaking;
• Apply their skill to the production aspects of the industry;
• Seek employment with an existing manufacturing or embark on a self-employment career such as a production studio;
• Work in design, production and/or retailing within the industry;
• Employ environmentally sustainable practices within the profession.

This program provides graduates with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to function competently in the role of an Occupational Therapist Assistant and Physiotherapist Assistant (OTA and PTA) in a complex health care environment. OTAs and PTAs work under the supervision of and in collaboration with occupational therapists and physiotherapists, respectively and assist these therapists to teach and enable clients to effectively cope with their limitations in movement, daily functioning, and activities whether temporary or permanent, during and following recovery. This program is a combination of practical and theoretical learning achieved through classroom, laboratory and field placements. To meet the needs of clients in agency and community settings, learning will take place with an inter-professional approach.

This program is designed to provide training in the theoretical and practical aspects of modern marketing communications. Graduates will be able to perform advertising/communications functions using a variety of media techniques.

Begin your career as a baker or pastry chef! Through hands-on training, students will study traditional and contemporary baking methods, the basics of pastry, cake decorating and contemporary dessert plating. Through classroom lectures, students learn baking theory, nutrition, trade calculations, sanitation, food safety and business concepts to support skills used in the daily operation of a bakery. Using global industry trends, graduates are prepared to critically think, innovate, and to professionally apply business management skills for lifelong career success as a baking professional in all sectors of the food service industry or as entrepreneurs.

Graduates of this program will be prepared for exciting careers in the field of business. Students will develop the skills to research, analyze, and manage many aspects of business. This program provides students with the necessary background to become Artificial Intelligence (AI) system designers, programmers, implementers, or machine learning analysts. With a strong focus on applied skills, students learn how to design and implement supervised, unsupervised and reinforcement learning solutions for a variety of situations and solve AI challenges for a diverse set of industries. 

Advanced study in AI infrastructure, architecture, machine learning frameworks, reinforcement learning, neural networks, vision system, conversational AI and deep learning help students understand how to select, configure and apply the right technology tools to build the correct AI solution to solve a given challenge.
