For students interested in managing people or processes, Georgian''s two-year Business program provides a solid foundation in the basics of business. Studies in economics, accounting, marketing, and human resources lay the foundation for a good start. Individual courses provide the student with the fundamental knowledge and skills required to get to work. This program can launch a career or can be a spring-board into further studies.

This program is designed to prepare students for exciting employment opportunities in the golf sector of the hospitality industry. Theoretical concepts taught in the classroom are blended with practical learning opportunities gained through exposure to various golf facilities in North America. Students are exposed to all aspects of golf operations from turf care and maintenance to the operation of retail outlets and golf event planning. Students also gain professional and entrepreneurial skills for industry and self-employment, as well as real life experience through participation in a work term and extensive field trips to golf courses in Canada and the U.S. 

In this program, Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) enhance their knowledge and understanding of nursing practice in complex care environments in Ontario by developing their theoretical and clinical skills. Individuals with complex care needs often suffer from combinations of multiple chronic conditions, mental health problems, drug interactions and social vulnerability. Using an interprofessional approach, students focus on the application and evaluation of advanced theories and practices related to ethical and legal issues, pharmacology, advanced health assessment, mental health nursing practice, complex health challenges, clinical decision making, communication, cultural diversity and sensitivity. Experienced nursing faculty use a variety of active learning methods, including simulation labs and a practicum placement to assist IENs to consolidate their understanding of healthcare in Canada and the nursing profession in Ontario.

In order to provide a quality practicum placement, students will be placed in a variety of settings. Students are required to provide their own transportation for the practicum.

In this program, students prepare  for careers as Denturists. Students  develop knowledge, skills and attitudes consistent with their scope of practice, in particular assisting clients in attaining and maintaining oral health. Students gain knowledge and train specifically in clinical and laboratory aspects related to their field, including complete, partial and immediate dentures, and dentures over implants. Students use a problem-solving framework, basing all decisions, judgments and interventions on current research and theory. Students are prepared for the legal and ethical responsibilities of a Denturist with an understanding of business practices related to self-employment.

Students safely set-up and operate standard machine tools and complex machining equipment, such as CNC lathes and mills. Knowledge and skills learned are used to repair or manufacture components, assist with design of jigs, fixtures, tools, moulds and dies and perform troubleshooting to enact repairs on production tooling. Students use accurate testing methods to ensure accuracy of manufactured components.

This program provides students with a degree-level education in business management with an applied focus for the automotive industry. Students learn current issues, trends and technologies that prepare them in adopting proactive approaches in identifying and responding to changes in the automotive industry. Instruction, lecture and discussion delivery promotes critical thinking and problem solving skills and classes will often include a guest speaker series with industry representatives in attendance. Labs are a substantial part of the program and the student run Auto Show is the largest lab of its kind in Canada. A strategically sequential co-op structure serves to maximize the link between theory and practice.

This program carefully balances theory and practice and parallels the two year Hospitality Management - Hotel and Resort program. In this increasingly complex and competitive business environment, accounting skills are very much in demand.

The program provides a foundation in all of the functional business areas and a comprehensive education in specific accounting practices and theory. Through a strong focus on application, students develop the skills needed for success in the business world; analytical thinking, problem solving, communication and teamwork. Students graduate ready to enter the workforce and support the accounting activities of any organization.

This two-year program will give students a comprehensive education in the design theory and technical and aesthetic skills required by the jewellery and metals industry for entry level positions. The emphasis in Semesters 1 and 2 is on basic information and techniques as related to jewellery. Advanced jewellery techniques will be learned as well as hollowware and flatware in Semester 3 and 4. Note: Graduates of this program are eligible to apply for the post-graduate diploma program of GLDS Goldsmithing and Silversmithing.

Students in this program prepare for success in the rapidly evolving and growing industry of civil engineering. Students are exposed to the construction of roads, bridges, sewers, water mains, and other infrastructure; are introduced to cost estimation; and experience field work, material testing, and project management. The application of codes and standards, site management techniques, and related computer technologies to integrated work placements prepares students to work with engineers, designers, and construction project managers as an integral part of the engineering team.
