In this program, students prepare  for careers as Denturists. Students  develop knowledge, skills and attitudes consistent with their scope of practice, in particular assisting clients in attaining and maintaining oral health. Students gain knowledge and train specifically in clinical and laboratory aspects related to their field, including complete, partial and immediate dentures, and dentures over implants. Students use a problem-solving framework, basing all decisions, judgments and interventions on current research and theory. Students are prepared for the legal and ethical responsibilities of a Denturist with an understanding of business practices related to self-employment.

Graduates of the program carry out human resources functions within the domestic and international business environments. Graduates are prepared to implement and evaluate plans for staffing, performance management, training, employee and labour relations, health and safety, and benefits and compensation administration functions. They are also able to apply communication, information technology, teamwork, leadership and organizational development strategies to support the human resources activities of an organization. They are able to contribute to a number of more complex functions supporting organizational effectiveness, including applying principles of financial analysis and control, collaborating in the design of an organization''s human resources plan, and in the preparation of an organization''s business plan.

This program provides graduates with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to function competently in the role of an Occupational Therapist Assistant and Physiotherapist Assistant (OTA and PTA) in a complex health care environment. OTAs and PTAs work under the supervision of and in collaboration with occupational therapists and physiotherapists, respectively and assist these therapists to teach and enable clients to effectively cope with their limitations in movement, daily functioning, and activities whether temporary or permanent, during and following recovery. This program is a combination of practical and theoretical learning achieved through classroom, laboratory and field placements. To meet the needs of clients in agency and community settings, learning will take place with an inter-professional approach.

Practical Experience:
Co-operative Education is a mandatory component of all Co-op programs at Georgian College; it has been designed as a process by which students integrate their academic education with work experience related to their programs of study. This integration affects much more than simply earning a salary, including the adjustment to the work environment and the development of professionalism. It also reinforces skills and theory learned during academic semesters, develops professional contacts, job knowledge and career path, improves human relations and communication skills, and promotes personal maturity and financial independence.

Students are requested to register, attend and participate in their scheduled co-operative education classes. These classes are scheduled for all first year students and are expected to be completed in order for students to proceed successfully to their first co-op work experiences. To ensure students are eligible to proceed onto any co-op work experience, students should refer to Promotional Status and Eligibility for Co-op as outlined in the College Calendar. In this program, students engage in interdisciplinary problem-solving, combining visual sensitivity with skill and knowledge in the areas of communications, technology, and business. Students learn to structure visual information to aid communication in both print and web-based formats, and employ these skills in the creation of advertising, editorial, branding, and information design. The depth and breadth of instruction in design and technology is reflected in the portfolio developed in this three-year program, preparing students to take on more creative and independent roles once they enter the workplace.

This program prepares students for careers involving the development, evaluation, and support of IT security solutions. Building on previous educational experience, students learn to create cost effective and secure computing environments. Graduates are able to categorize, design, implement, and integrate technical and managerial safeguards to ensure the security of networked computer systems. An emphasis will be placed on interpersonal, organizational, technical, communication, and problem-solving skills applied to enhance the effective implementation of security in a business environment.

In this program, students gain advanced skills in the use of environmental sampling, monitoring and testing equipment; data analysis; and information technology tools. They become familiar with applying the principles of ecosystem-based management for sustainability and develop the ability to manage environmental projects from planning through to implementation and maintenance. Through applied knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements, students contribute to risk assessment and environmental systems management. Students are provided an opportunity to apply their skills through partnerships in the community and stresses the need for designing and implementing systems to prevent, control and clean-up environmental contamination.

Learn to code using in-demand programming languages. Design and build applications for desktop, mobile and web. Be job-ready in two years.

In this program, students focus on computer programming, web development, and designing data-driven systems. Students learn how to write code in a variety of programming languages such as Arduino, ASP.NET, C#, Java, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, PHP and Swift. Students gain experience developing software for diverse platforms including embedded systems, desktop, mobile and mainframe systems. With a strong emphasis on business and entrepreneurial values, students gain experience in problem solving, troubleshooting and system building through a series of applied assignments, projects and co-op work terms.

This program specializes in creating interior environments in the context of professional interior design standards and practice. The curriculum emphasizes space planning and management, design process, research methodologies, socially responsible design, building systems, technological applications, contract documentation, and interior design presentation. Sustainable practices, entrepreneurship models, and regulatory codes are integrated throughout the curriculum. The curriculum is designed to meet current Council for Interior Design Accreditation's (CIDA) standards of delivery and content. Our program offers a uniquely collaborative learning experience which facilitates a hands-on model incorporating creative development, problem-solving, strategic thinking, and teaming protocols, providing our graduates with exceptional interior design knowledge and skills.
