This is a post-graduate program of 3 years duration recognised by the Medical Council of India. The program includes rotational postings in the Departments of Anaesthesia, Medicine, Surgery , Critical Care, Paediatrics & Emergency Medicine. The student is also posted in the Super speciality Departments of Paediatric Surgery, Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery and Paediatric Surgery. The student is also trained to administer Palliative Care.

The extensive practical training imparted to the student is supported by a teaching program that involves lectures, journal clubs, and case discussions. Our state of art Simulation Laboratory, is an invaluable aid to augment the learning of practical skills.

The experience gained by the student facilitates the development of exceptional clinical skills and a sound judgement in the practice of Anaesthesia and all its sub-specialities.

• Educate basic philosophical and ethical considerations regarding genetic data, genetic manipulation and biosafety issues.
• Explore emerging technologies, innovations, and new products in the field of genomics and proteomics.

It Prepares graduates to assume responsibilities as professional, competent nurses and midwives at a basic level in providing promotive, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative services. It also develops nurses who can make independent decisions in nursing situations, protect the rights of facilitating individuals and groups in pursuit of health, function in the hospital, community nursing services, and conduct research studies in the areas of nursing practice. They are also expected to assume the role of teacher, supervisor, and manager in a clinical/public health setting.

MBA in Systems Management is a 2-year postgraduate course that deals with software and information technology problems and administrative issues. The main aim of the MBA in Systems Management course is to teach students different subjects that include a detailed review of general management topics and the introduction of technology into business processes. MBA in Systems Management graduates have a wide range of job opportunities in the field of management.

This intensive coursework trains our students to become competent barristers, lawyers and solicitors. Rachana sharir is a basic subject of medical science which is Known as anatomy in modern medicine . Its study comprises of structural, functional and metaphysical aspects of the human body . To deal with this subject a whole body dissection is performed on the cadaver . Cadaver/dead body preservation technique is taught to the students. Radiological study of the whole body is explained to them. Besides normal anatomy subject deals with congenital anomalies, pathological anatomy and normal and abnormal functioning of each and every body part .

All this knowledge is correlated and it is comprised in clinical anatomy. The vital points of body are studied under head of Marma Sharir.

This department comprises of three subjects Agadtantra i.e. Toxicology, Vyavhar Ayurved i.e. Forensic Medicine & Vidhivaidyak i.e. Medical Jurisprudence. Agadtantra deals with detail study of poisons, whereas Vyavhar Ayurved & Vidhivaidyak deals with medical aspect of law & legal aspect of medicine respectively.

Objectives :

• It gives complete knowledge of various kinds of toxicities & legal procedures.
• Forensic Medicine & Medical Jurisprudence is a challenging area of medical specialization which comprises of law & medicine.
• It is concerned with a broad range of medical, legal, and ethical issues, as well as human rights and rights of individual.
• The knowledge of this subject is very useful in medical practice as well as to the society.
• Scattered references of Agadtantra & Vidhivaidyak are there in ancient texts which need to be studied with modern perspective.
• Through postgraduation various researches can be carried out. For eg. efficacy of anti-poisonous drugs mentioned in ancient texts in cases of poisoning, prevention of toxicities, detoxification of poisons & their use as a medicine.

The Ayurveda Department at DY Patil University is unique because we focus on inter and intradepartmental association so that we can create and facilitate the best treatment for a number of diseases based on an amalgamation of topics in healthcare. Ayurveda is known to get rid of chronic diseases and thus our institute is very research intensive, constantly striving for innovation in treatment practices.

As a part of the coursework, awareness programs are arranged regularly with the help of PG students, to spread awareness about lifestyle disorders arising due to excessive use of electronic gadgets, like computer vision syndrome, amblyopia, refractive error in early age, squint, allergic disorders etc. We assist in the implementation of the national program for the Prevention of Blindness & Rehabilitation of the visually impaired.
