Fire and safety engineering refers to precautions that are taken to prevent or reduce the likelihood of a fire that may result in death, injury, or property damage.

It can be defined as the art and science of designing buildings and facilities for life safety and property protection in the event of an unwanted fire with application of scientific and engineering principles. The fire engineering design sectors are at the forefront in ensuring fire safety is maintained and enhanced, without exhausting natural resources or damaging the environment.

This course is designed for the students who dream to be involved in the design of industrial safety solutions along with the fire protection measures through the application of prevailing knowledge and proven techniques. The program enables students to explore the various possibilities of preventing fires.

The Master’s program in Construction Engineering and Management is a two-year degree programme. The main aim of the programme is to shape the managerial skills of engineering graduates. The course prepares student to become decision makers and strategists, fulfilling production, commercial and technological demands. With this program, students can acquire knowledge in management science, project management, decision and risk analysis, information technology, finance, lean manufacturing, optimization, supply chain management and various other functional areas of management. Students also gain practical experience in real-world projects. Also, students have exposure to software such as Project Management Software. There is a well-maintained departmental library which is also accessible to students.

B.Com (Honours) course is a three-year undergraduate qualification for students wishing to pursue a career in accounting and finance. It is accredited by ‘The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants’ (ACCA), U.K. The program has core courses, competency builders, industry interface and research. The students will develop business, financial and analytical expertise through this course. Emphasis is laid on practical work which is simulated through case studies, actual projects and learning by doing. Some of the major areas that are covered include Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Micro and Macro Economics, Business Statistics, Introduction to Computers, Business Laws, Corporate Laws, Taxation, Indian Economy and Business Communication.

Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Physics program is designed to prepare students for a research career in academia or industry by introducing advanced ideas and techniques that are applicable in a wide range of research areas while emphasizing the underlying concepts of Physics. This course provides an in-depth understanding of principles and concepts of Physics, proficiency in experimentation to understand the theoretical and experimental dimensions of Physics.
