BSc Microbiology is a three-year undergraduate course that comprises the study of microorganisms, this includes various organisms like a unicellular, cluster of microscopic animals, viruses, bacteria, and fungi. This discipline is a key component of the various research in biochemistry and pathology.The Mission of our department is to contribute to the holistic development of students. The primary objective is to provide an educational and research environment in basic and applied concepts of microbiology relevant to the living systems, environment, and industries. Diverse aspects of science and technology will be utilized to impart fundamental knowledge and to solve challenging problems. The preliminary focus of our department will be to acquaint students with the world of microbiology with hands-on practical training on fundamental techniques of microbiology. Our program will encompass theoretical and practical aspects of advances in scientific research along with interactive sessions with subject experts and regular industrial visits. This training will enhance the problem-solving capability of students. Research projects will be an integral part of our course and which will help our students to think out of the box and work in a team.

Objectives

Structural Engineering is a special branch of Civil Engineering/Applied Mechanics which focuses on the use of the analysis and design of various structure that includes residential building, public building, bridges, roof trusses, and its components like walls, beams, columns and foundation. The scope is not limited to only design of the structure it also includes dynamic forces like wind analysis, earthquake and ensure the stability and safety of the structures. It is also concerned with developing the new materials for its use as an engineering material the students pursuing this course study about ideas and various research methods to prevent any damage to structure during entire design period of the structure it should stand without cracks and excessive deformation. Further, it also includes the repair and rehabilitation of the distressed structures. With reference to the Final assessment of Marwadi University Civil Engineering Material Testing laboratory in the disciplines of Mechanical Testing conducted by National Accreditation Board for Laboratories (NABL) in June 2017, NABL has evaluated the assessment report and decided grant of accreditation in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2005 in the disciplines of Mechanical Testing as per the scope and authorized signatories recommended by the assessment team. With this accreditation, Marwadi University becomes the 1st university in Gujarat, to have a NABL accredited Civil Engineering Material Testing Laboratory which are very few in the country.
