As the energy and process sector in India is in a boom, the engineers with a strong background in thermal and fluid sciences capable of carrying out conceptual design have a key role. The primary goal of the program is to provide sufficient theoretical, computational and experimental knowledge in the field of thermal and fluid sciences. It also encapsulates simulation and experimental in the field of IC engines, power plant, aerospace and gas turbines.
The program is designed to equip students to perform design related to steady state/ transient heat transfer, steady and unsteady fluid flow, multi phase flows, fluid structure interactions viz., estimation of thermal and pressure loads and coupled field analysis. The program provides required numerical simulation techniques for design and analysis of equipments like gas turbines and accessories, steam turbines and reactor pipes, heat exchangers, compressors, turbines, pumps, propellers, rotor stator interactions, flow separators, inlet manifolds, volutes, turbo chargers etc. The course also introduces the student to experimental techniques like flow visualization, combustion diagnostics, particle characterization and other recent imaging techniques adopted in the field of thermal research.

Objectives    
The PEOs of the program are:

• To prepare students with the technical knowledge and skills needed to protect and defend computer systems and networks.
• To develop skills in students that can help them plan, implement, and monitor cyber security mechanisms to ensure the protection of information technology assets.
• To develop students that can identify, analyze, and solve computer security breaches.

Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing is a special branch of Mechanical Engineering that employs wide range of computer based tools and techniques assisting engineers in design and manufacturing activities. Geometrical modeling, Engineering analysis, software simulations optimization, validation are some of the well-known concepts involved in the study of computer aided design and manufacturing.

Transportation Engineering is a special branch of Civil Engineering which focuses on the various modes of Transportation that includes road ways, bridges, rail ways, marine ways and air ways. It is involved with analysis and design of the transportation routes for men and material movements. The scope is not limited to only design of the Transportation routes but it also includes design of the signaling, traffic managements as well as pavement materials for Transportations. It is also concerned with developing the new materials for construction of bituminous, concrete roads as well as railway sleepers and run way design. The students pursuing this course study about ideas and various research methods to smooth, safe and fast means of by any mode of Transportation. The tunnels, bridges metro, BRTS, Mono rail with environmental concern etc. are the part and partial of these engineering. Further, it also includes the repair and rehabilitation of the distressed roads, railways and bridges.
