Cyber security is the practice of protecting computers, servers, electronic systems, networks, mobiles as well as data from malicious attacks. It involves protecting software, hardware, as well as user’s data. It also helps prevent cybercriminals from gaining access to various devices connected through networks. It also trains how to monitor systems and networks for intrusions. In view of that Uttaranchal University offers BCA – Cyber Security, a three-year undergraduate program designed to fulfil the requirements of the IT industries.

BCA- cyber security program focuses on providing relevant skills to establish sample collection techniques from different sources that help students to profile threat actors. The program includes courses like Fundamentals of Cyber Security, Risk Management, Law of Cyber Security, Security Professional Ethics, Principles of Information System Security, Paradigm of Ethical Hacking, Information System Security Planning and Audits, Python programming, etc

Bachelor of Pharmacy degree mainly prepares the candidates to work in the pharmaceutical industry, regulatory body, clinical research etc. The programme structure of the degree includes practical training in the pharmaceutical industry environment.

The field of psychology is quite vast and it covers clinical psychology, counselling, General psychology, Business psychology, Forensic Psychology, International psychology, Educational Psychology and so on. Organizations looking for psychologist for their business ask for different skill sets such as good communication skills, Analytical ability, emotional balance, problem solving capability, ethical responsibility etc. for their human resource management, good social behaviour, excellent mental health and stress management.

B.Tech CSE with specialization in Data Science is a 4 years (or 8 semesters) undergraduate program that focuses on using various scientific methods and methodologies to extract important data from raw data. The curriculum provides students with the opportunity to study strategies and abilities, such as, data extraction, methodology analysis, and so on.

Data science is an important aspect of the IT business; it is used to manage datasets and extract useful information. Students at Uttaranchal University have numerous opportunities to develop skills in querying, mining, cleansing, inspecting, and analyzing databases.

Students will be taught how to use the most up-to-date tools in the field of data science. Industry expert guest lecturers as part of teaching-learning pedagogy are regularly conducted for Data Science tool training and deployment. These expert talks address cutting-edge tech issues, such as, data mining, deep web, and AI-based data driven modeling.

Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning (AI &ML) relates to the field of computer science and helps in making the intelligent systems or machines that can simulate the human behaviour, their thinking capability. It works either on the basis of data without or with the explicitly designed program or machine algorithm. Few examples where AI is used are online Game playing, customer support using catboats, robot, intelligent humanoid, Siri, work on artificial intelligence. Machine learning works on the information extracted from data and it is considered as subfield of artificial intelligence. ML is used or predictions or in decision making based on the past data, for example, online recommendations, picture detections, search engine algorithm, auto-friend tagging suggestions etc.

B.Sc. (Hons.) Biotechnology is a 3-year program with an enriched curriculum comprising of basic courses (cell biology, biochemistry, animal and plant physiology, developmental biology) and applied courses (plant and animal biotechnology, bioinformatics, bioprocess technology and others). Specific courses target skill development, employability and entrepreneurship potential of biotechnology.

B.A. (Hons.) English with research is an undergraduate programme in English Literature. The programme teaches about English Language and Literature and the way it has developed into its modern form along with highlighting varied aspects of English society through its genres like Drama, Poetry, Novel, etc.

The Programme is intended for the students who have a strong interest in English Language and Literature and who show promise in the study of either or both. The programme is a combination of modern and ancient English literature, consisting of three main areas of focus, i.e. Prose, Poetry, and Drama. The programme includes literature by not just England writers, but from all over the world. Cultural, political and historical contexts of English and linguistics are explored on an advanced level.

It prepares students for teaching and Creative English Writing. After Post-Graduate degree, a candidate can pursue Doctoral Degree or can appear in competitive examination for jobs in various government departments. MA English students also have scope to build their career in the field of journalism, Education, BPOs and KPOs, Publishing, Theatre, Media & Entertainment, Corporate, Writing, Advertising and Public Relations. B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering with specialization IoT is a 4 years (or 8 semesters) undergraduate program that is designed to impart sound theoretical and practical learning of networking and communication technologies. The knowledge is essential to develop heterogeneous applications in the field of the internet of things (IoT). The program includes the foundations of multiple predecessors of IoT, such as, WSN and M2M so that students can understand the significance of the IoT domain.

The program gradually provides the knowledge of various sensors and their development, a thorough understanding of communication and connectivity technologies used in IoT solutions. Live case studies and projects from different sectors of society and industry are the key features of this program so that a student may be able to provide the real-time solutions required for making smart devices.
