The new-age Textiles Design program encompasses art, design, craft, and technology. Students in this field will acquire technical and conceptual skills to create soft products informed by material, purpose, and the sense of touch. A wide range of technical processes and topics including weaving, dyeing, printing, embellishment, surface design, felting, sewing, quilting, garment construction, knitting, crochet, laser cutting, digital print and pattern design. Students are encouraged to discover new ways of working through material experimentation. With the guidance of faculty, students develop an individualized language of colour, pattern and texture, both planar and sculptural in form.

In an interdisciplinary way, the strategy & innovation concentration would have you actively practice Design strategy & Human Centred Design through a pathway of studio courses that teach how to use market insights to build products, create experiences, and launch businesses. In addition to dedicated studio space for heads-down work, students have access to model-making, rapid prototyping, and multimedia technology for the range of projects they take on to bring this work to life. By the end of this programme, you would gain adequate competence enabling them to understand and map the opportunities and design transformational strategies, manage innovation and new business development in any of all the diverse sectors from products to services, governance, crafts to ICT, life and entertainment, etc. and will be equally equipped to enter any industry, social enterprises, consultancy or jobs always contributing to the top management function either as team players or as team leaders or even initiate start-ups.

This course focuses on creating fashion illustrators who will be able to meet the requirements of the rising demands of the fashion and entertainment industries. Industrial Design as a profession empowers the professional to design consumer centric products and systems related to industry, medical, computer, electronics, environment, and many such verticals. An industrial designer is not just well versed in aesthetics but also has the engineering point of perspective to enable a better production technology for the product. The masters program is designed to build a critical mind that has basic design, visualization, communication and engineering skills. Students learn through free hand sketches, computer aided design (using Adobe Creative Cloud, Alias, Sketchbook, RHINO 3D etc.) various studio workshops (Metal, Plastic, Automotive Clay, Wood, Paint etc.), visiting lectures, and practical hands-on working with the materials. Students are encouraged to learn not only from the course material but also from the various disciplines related to the same.
