This program will enable you to become a highly qualified beauty therapist by building on your existing foundation of knowledge and skills. It will equip you to work in a variety of settings and take on greater responsibilities. You'll also become capable of managing or owning your own beauty clinic. Specifically, you'll learn about a range of treatments that will extend your capabilities in advanced skincare, nutrition, microdermabrasion, electrology hair removal, hot stone massage, body wraps and exfoliations, dermal needling and LED light therapy. You'll extend your ability to take on advanced responsibilities and implement professional standards in the areas of health, safety and hygiene - skills that are valued in the industry and will enhance employment opportunities.

This diploma is designed to enable you to scope, manage and lead projects. It covers business basics including accounting, sales and marketing, human resources and risk management, then focuses on project management.

You'll gain an understanding of project management principles and methods, and what project management tools are available. You'll also learn how to select, apply and support a broad range of current and emerging business technologies to meet a business's needs and how to apply this project management knowledge to real-life scenarios.

Within graduate diploma you will study all aspects of successful event management; subjects include project management, event planning and management, event logistics and event marketing and sponsorship. You will also get real world experience through team project work during your study.

During the course of this one-year program, you'll acquire the advanced preparation, cookery and presentation techniques to confidently plan and produce a wide range of complex dishes including hot and cold desserts, gateaux and torten. You'll also learn effective methods for planning and monitoring workflow and supplies, and strategies for managing staff and operations to meet performance targets.

To meet Health and Safety requirements, applicants must be physically able to undertake the practical components of the program in an industry emulated environment.

The Master of Sustainable Practice is designed for individuals who seek to lead innovative problem solving in sustainable practice. Across the range of core, project and applied research components, you'll gain advanced interdisciplinary skills and knowledge that will enable you to: critically evaluate and apply concepts of sustainable practice; work independently and collaboratively; and become a change-maker contributing to sustainable practice. You'll also develop and apply advanced understandings of the theories, driving forces and worldviews related to sustainable practice within the context of your discipline-specific knowledge.

The programme facilitates collaboration and innovation and applies an interdisciplinary framework to address complex sustainability problems. Upon completion of the programme you will be able to: advocate for, and lead change towards, more sustainable practices; apply high level research skills to plan and conduct independent inquiry projects related to sustainability in professional contexts; and be an independent learner who can utilise and undertake research to formulate solutions to sustainability issues.

You will gain a solid grounding in engineering theory and principles of engineering science including design and drawing electrical, electronics, networks, programming and microcontrollers. Working closely with professional engineers you will apply current and emerging technologies in new situations. Our courses are industry designed and during this program you will develop sound thinking and problem solving skills for work in designing and implementing engineering technology.

Bachelor of Broadcasting Communications degree specialising in journalism is a highly practical programme providing you with the skills and theory to break news stories and be actively involved with the production of news for radio, television or online media. Early in your studies you'll gain a strong grounding in broadcasting and communications theory, writing and researching news bulletins for our radio station. You'll also report TV news stories for broadcast and online.

Bachelor of Engineering Technology (BEngTech) Civil Major is a three year degree comprising of core and elective courses, with a focus on the design and implementation of engineering technology. Choose your electives to specialise in structural, water and water waste, or roading and transportation engineering strands. The BEngTech (Civil) is fully accredited by Engineering New Zealand (EngNZ) and is recognised internationally under the Sydney Accord. In your first year of study you'll develop core engineering skills in computing, mathematics, management and the engineering sciences, plus some discipline-specific topics. This forms the foundation upon which you'll build your degree. Critical thinking, problem solving and innovation will be a key part of your success.

In your second and third years you'll continue to deepen your understanding in civil engineering and engage in projects to apply your knowledge. A capstone project is run with close ties to industry, with many projects being sponsored by key industry parties. This offers the chance to test your skills against industry standards in a real-world scenario, while building your professional portfolio and developing important industry contacts.

In your first year of study we broaden your knowledge with core business strategies and operational subjects including accounting, business communication, commercial law, business heritage, culture and sustainability, marketing, computing, management and applied research. In the following two years, our degree programme examines all aspects of the Operations and Production Management major with studies in:

• Intermediate Management Accounting - Covers the processes and information required for effective planning, control and decision making.
• Operations Management - Develops the concepts and analytical methods for transforming inputs into completed goods and services via the management of people and resources.
• Project Management - Appraises project plans using MS Project and explores the basic principles and terminology of project management.
• Resource Integration Management - Examines aspects of supply chain management, business facility layout/modification and engineering economics, and their relation to effective business operation, technical management, project management and production of goods and services.
• Product Development - Evaluates appropriate tools and methods for achieving best outcomes and effective management across all facets of new product and service developments.
