In IDEAschool’s Bachelor of Creative Practice (BCP) program you will learn through hands-on engagement with the ideas and technologies associated with Design, Fashion, Fine Art, Music and Screen Production.

The course will teach you a wide range of technical skills that are essential to successful practice in the creative industries today. You will learn software as well as traditional methods of creating Design, Fashion, Fine Art, Music and Screen Production. You will be challenged to develop your powers of creative thinking and idea generation. These, together with developing mastery of media techniques, will enable you to make work that is both professional and personally satisfying. In the second and third years of the degree you will drive your creative direction with increasing independence.

The NZ Diploma in Music is a one year program that will develop your practical skills during individual and group projects to prepare you for a diverse and exciting career.

The Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) supports individuals to become competent social work practitioners within their communities. It enables students to apply for professional registration to be a social worker practitioner in Aotearoa/New Zealand. 

Students will develop the understanding, personal attributes, knowledge and skills needed to be competent social workers in a range of fields, some of which include, family work, health and education, child protection, drug and alcohol, family violence, working with probation and youth services.

The objective of this program is to produce graduates who:

• Are empathic, non-judgmental, respectful, resilient and self-aware; and demonstrate integrity, authenticity and professionalism.
• Take a critical, reflective approach to social work practice that includes the use of supervision, continuing professional development, on-going learning and personal wellbeing.

The Bachelor of Computing Systems (BCS) will equip you with foundation knowledge of computer hardware, networking communications and security, data and databases, information systems and IT management, systems analysis, design, and development, and internet and mobile technologies.

Depending on the stream of courses you select, you will develop the ability to design and implement high quality IT solutions within your specialisation, and apply the professional processes necessary to achieve successful outcomes for organisations.

The Master of Health Science programme provides the opportunity for practitioners working in health and health-related fields to advance and expand their knowledge and expertise within an interdisciplinary learning environment. 

Courses are designed around knowledge and research relating to key threads of health disparities and the global health needs of populations. The program provides you with the opportunity to investigate the worldwide improvement of health, reduction of health disparities and protection against global threats from an international context.

The multidisciplinary and inter-professional context of health science involves everyone sharing discussions from their own experiences, enabling all practitioners to advance their knowledge of health treatment, care and prevention of disparities in a truly interdisciplinary sphere.

This qualification is designed for learners who wish to further develop their practical and conceptual skills and knowledge in arts, crafts and/or design.

The creative industries and cultural sector in Aotearoa New Zealand will benefit from graduates who can use research to inform, critique and present resolved work in simulated contexts.

As a graduate you will be able to independently select and apply a range of processes in arts, craft and/or design contexts.

As a graduate of this qualification you will be able to:

• Produce practice-based creative works from a critically engaged personal standpoint informed by contemporary and historic contexts.
• Apply broad knowledge and practical and conceptual skills in the production of arts, craft and/or design work.
• Use investigative tools with creative processes, methods and technologies to develop responses to a brief and solve problems.

The Bachelor of Viticulture and Wine Science enables graduates to pursue a professional career in the winemaking industry by gaining technical, scientific and managerial expertise in both growing quality grapes and making world class wines.

The degree provides a strong science foundation with practical application and industry interaction in all three years. There is an in-depth focus on growing grapes and making wine, as well as the essential business skills required once working in industry related to people management and wine marketing.

The latest research, industry technology and important issues related to sustainability are key topics. You will get an opportunity to make your own wine, work in a vineyard, complete a harvest internship, complete a research project in collaboration with industry, develop a wine palate and gain practical skills like tractor driving, first aid and forklift operation within the degree structure. 

The NZ Diploma in Fashion is a one year project-based program designed for people wanting a career in fashion and to gain technical skills and knowledge required to work in the fashion design industry.

During the course you will:

• Produce digital documentation of your research and progress.
• Develop skills in fashion concept design and fashion illustration.
• Develop skills to produce and manipulate pattern blocks and toiles.
• Create fashion products to industry standards, after having prepared the specifications and planned the construction.
• Develop professional ethics and values in relation to your own creative practice.
• Produce a mini collection of clothing from concept to completion and present in a catwalk show.
• Prepare a self-development plan to determine employment options.

As a graduate you will be capable of self-managing design projects to completion by applying technical skills and processes within briefs. You will have the conceptual and practical skills that reflect current fashion design industry practices.

The New Zealand Diploma in Business is a stand-alone program providing a firm understanding of business in the New Zealand environment along with the most valuable attributes that are required in the modern business era. You’ll choose from two majors: accounting and leadership and management.

In particular, the program is designed to:
