The Bachelor of Viticulture and Wine Science enables graduates to pursue a professional career in the winemaking industry by gaining technical, scientific and managerial expertise in both growing quality grapes and making world class wines.

The degree provides a strong science foundation with practical application and industry interaction in all three years. There is an in-depth focus on growing grapes and making wine, as well as the essential business skills required once working in industry related to people management and wine marketing.

The latest research, industry technology and important issues related to sustainability are key topics. You will get an opportunity to make your own wine, work in a vineyard, complete a harvest internship, complete a research project in collaboration with industry, develop a wine palate and gain practical skills like tractor driving, first aid and forklift operation within the degree structure. 

The Bachelor of Computing Systems (BCS) will equip you with foundation knowledge of computer hardware, networking communications and security, data and databases, information systems and IT management, systems analysis, design, and development, and internet and mobile technologies.

Human Resource Management

In this program you will gain an understanding and the skills you need to get the right people into the jobs they will excel in. You will be able to keep them in those jobs and you will be able to develop their performance and talent.

On completion of this program you will able to manage and develop an organisation’s most valuable asset, its people, and as such you will have a strategic role. Human resources advisers may work for large organisations, government departments, or human resources consultancies.

The MIT is a Level 9 programme with a minimum of 180 or 240 credits. It enables those who have completed a Bachelors’ degree in Information Technology/Computing to achieve a postgraduate level qualification in Information Technology.

The programme can be completed in two years (240 credits) or 18 months (180 credits) full-time or up to eight years part-time, depending on your previous study and experience and specific course preferences.  It is designed to extend and deepen your knowledge and skills by building on attainment gained from undergraduate study in the computing field and to extend current information technology professionals in their career progression.

It offers a unique perspective from both the European and Maori creative culture allowing a wide selection of media to be advanced.
