This unique degree is for those who love being creative, writing and the performing arts, but also want to discover how the media shape our identities and our world.

In this unique composite major, you’ll study courses in both media studies and expressive arts. You’ll blend theory with creative practice.

Expressive arts is unique in New Zealand and was created in response to student demand. You’ll get to study a combination of the three creative discipline areas of theatre, creative writing, or digital media production.

In the media studies part of your study, you will learn about the production, consumption and content of media and their social, cultural, political and economic implications.

You will learn how decisions are made on what is communicated, how media forms and industry structures shape those messages, and how this impacts our lives and understanding of the world.

The Master of Management is a professional, relevant, and contemporary qualification.

It has a unique core of courses that focus on key business skills like communication, leading and working in teams, and current issues in business.

Management involves both being able to work independently and making management decisions, but also being able to work with and direct teams of people. Those people could be within your organisation, or external clients and stakeholders. The Master of Management works with you to help develop these skills as well as specialist business capability in your endorsement of choice.

Massey University’s Postgraduate Diploma in Science and Technology gives you the opportunity to join the pathway to in-depth research at a master’s level. 

If you complete the qualification at a satisfactory level you may be able to proceed to the Master of Science. If so, credits you have gained through this qualification may be credited to the master’s qualification.

Massey’s Master of Engineering Studies combines taught and research courses at a postgraduate level.

If you are already working, or your research experience is limited, this qualification will give you the learning you need to take your career to the next level. Or, you can use the degree to help you gain expertise in an area outside the focus of your undergraduate qualification (or current employment).

If you want to become a registered social worker, but don’t have a bachelor’s degree in social work, then this qualification is for you.

The Master of Applied Social Work is designed for those with relevant practice experience, or a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline. That could include psychology, education, law, medicine, nursing, sociology, anthropology, theology or case management, or other related disciplines.This qualification will prepare you for practice and registration as a social worker in New Zealand and most other countries.

Politics is life, and like life, politics is a struggle. The study of politics equips you with the concepts, theories, and facts necessary to make sense of that struggle. Politics is about us: how we make decisions in society and who gets what, when, and how. Politics is also concerned with the conflict of ideas and values, not only at the level of the local community or the nation but also internationally. More specifically, it has to do with who governs and how and why decisions that affect all of us (such as how much students pay to study at a university) are made.

Massey’s Master of Finance combines the study of advanced finance theory with the choice of completing the qualification either by undertaking a Research option or a Professional option.

This qualification has a focus on real-world learning – you can utilise our relationships with industry to draw on your own work experience. You will also learn the application of techniques in environments like our Trading and Investment Rooms – the first of their kind in New Zealand.

You will be taught by some of New Zealand's leading finance practitioners and will learn how to apply high-level in-depth research in the workplace.

The Master of Finance will also help develop your oral and written communication skills to the level expected of senior business leaders.
