The emergence of streaming over the last ten years, and the way it has shaped and transformed our habits, makes this a fascinating time to address traditional and new modes of production and distribution.

As well as developing your technical skills, you’ll look at important issues around representation, identity, and ultimately a central critical question: what is television?

Our BA (Hons) Music Performance will challenge your creativity. You’ll learn to analyse and deconstruct existing modes of performance, songwriting and composition before finding your own way to create new performances or rework the music of others.

As the course develops, you’ll examine increasingly complex performance scenarios, using them to inform aspects of your own live work. Weekly performance workshops in Year 2 will help you hone your stagecraft in particular styles of performance, while analysis seminars will allow you to explore vocal and instrument techniques by genre.

As a Music Performance student at ARU, you'll create a diverse portfolio of work and learn up-to-date techniques that will prepare you for the modern collaborative creative industries, whether you want to perform and release your own music, create soundtracks for films and games, or play in a band or orchestra.Many of your modules will be shared with our other music courses, giving you the chance to collaborate with different students and develop all-important skills for your professional life, such as teamworking and time management. Our planet urgently needs well-trained wildlife conservationists to find solutions to the problems of biodiversity loss.If you’re passionate about wildlife and planning a career in conservation, this Masters degree will equip you with the applied skills you need.You’ll focus on the sustainable management of wildlife and habitats and learn how to analyse and interpret data in the interests of conservation.Our MSc Applied Wildlife Conservation has been developed with international environmental organisations, so you can be sure your skills and knowledge will be valued by employers.

You’ll study in Cambridge, where you’ll benefit from specialist guest lecturers and our links with local conservation organisations such as the British Antarctic Survey and the International Union for Conservation of Nature.

Field trips will give you the opportunity to work on conservation projects in the UK and abroad. As well as a number of day field trips, we offer an optional residential field trip, usually overseas, to enable you to explore issues central to wildlife conservation and sustainability, in situ.

Key practical skills you’ll gain include the use of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) software to map and analyse species distributions and support conservation planning, and statistical analysis skills.

You’ll develop research skills, and we’ll also support you to gain communication skills important in your future career as a scientist or conservationist engaging with non-governmental organisations and the wider public.

Study MA Art, Health, and Wellbeing at ARU, and develop the theoretical, practical, and leadership skills, understanding and knowledge that are critical to creating dynamic and inclusive forms of participatory research and practice, community engagement and resilience building, and creative urban culture. As an Art, Health, and Wellbeing student in Cambridge, you’ll be able to work in a start-up environment and a relaxed culture in which creativity and creative problem solving are valued and build strong relationships and freely exchange thoughts and ideas. Most importantly, you’ll receive support and guidance from our experienced staff who, as well as running their own studio practice, have worked with companies such as the NHS, Prepared International, Nebama Mind, World Health Organisation, and World Humanitarian Forum. The creative freedom offered by the course results in a variety of degree outputs based on art futuring, ideas and methods for creativity as an expanded ethical and professional practice, from social prescribing and increasing human connectivity, to overcoming fear, pain, anxiety, depression and stress.

Talks from visiting lecturers and live briefs from industry are built into our course. They focus on areas including participatory research and practice, digital health, social design and sustainability, interactive storytelling and digital technologies, care systems and future health. We'll encourage you to build your profile by entering national and international competitions, as well as taking part in our own competitions such as the Sustainability Art Prize. You'll have the chance to develop a business plan and pitch for start-up funding through our annual competition, The Big Pitch, and you can get involved in our research conferences and creative events.

On our MA Intercultural Communication, you’ll discover the importance of intercultural relationships both to the modern socio-economic climate – and to building a successful career within it.

Performing is at the core of our Drama degree at ARU.

With our BA (Hons) Drama degree, we’ll help you to grow into a confident, versatile and exciting drama practitioner with transferable skills to suit the field you want to work in.

With a strong focus on performance, you’ll get to work on public productions as well as smaller-scale projects, exploring practices from the 20th century onwards and devising your own productions.

We’ll encourage you to create innovative and daring performance practice as you develop expertise in group collaboration alongside your own solo performances. You’ll also get the chance to weight your studies to suit your interests, be that drama practice, specialising in backstage production or even theatre administration.

You’ll follow an experiential 'learning-through-doing' programme and your degree will see you choosing from a range of career-focused optional modules, completing a 100% practical Major Project, and graduating with a professionally produced showreel and portfolio.
