The construction industry is one of the most dynamic, diverse and significant in the world. We live, work and play in the built environment, and our Construction Management degree course will develop your skills, knowledge and understanding of the technology and management involved in its creation.

We'll focus on the key stages and process of planning, construction and maintenance. These range from building design and technology, to resource management and project administration. Engineering is all about taking a product or system and looking at how it can be improved, whether it is in the manufacturing, the design, or even the materials. Our new MEng Automotive Engineering course has been created to focus on project-based learning, allowing you to take your in-class theory and apply it in a hands-on project module that will run throughout the year.

Our BA (Hons) Montessori Early Childhood Studies degree is the right course for you if you’re interested in working in a Montessori and early years context. This first of its kind, this course will develop your knowledge, enabling you to become a competent Montessori teacher.

You’ll explore the Montessori method of education, focussing on the three elements of the Montessori Dynamic triangle: the child, the environment and the teacher. We’ll work together to explore the Montessori materials and the presentations that support children’s learning and development, giving them opportunity for self-direction, while you guide them on their journey to self-discovery.

Focusing on Montessori’s own writings, you’ll study her own theories of the secrets of childhood and on the importance of supporting the child to reach their full potential.

Caring for acutely ill adults is a demanding and important role, and we’ll help you develop the skills and expertise to practise effectively and compassionately. You’ll learn how to provide specialist clinical care while at the same time transforming your existing qualification/s into a BSc (Hons) degree.

Choose to study in Cambridge, Chelmsford or Peterborough, alongside other students with a particular interest in this area. It’s a great opportunity to learn from each other. Together, you’ll explore and apply the current policies, laws and procedures that affect the care of acutely ill adults. On the practical side, you’ll use our state-of-the-art clinical skills laboratories that will give you an unparalleled opportunity to fine-tune your nursing skills. Public health covers three key areas:

• Health improvement: this includes work to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities by promoting health lifestyle changes. This can include helping people to quit smoking or improve their living conditions; promoting healthy eating, or tackling underlying issues such as poverty and reduced access to healthcare.
• Health protection: this area can cover the safety and quality of the environment, food and water, preventing the spread of communicable disease and managing outbreaks – such as pandemic flu – and addressing the health effects of climate change.
