Our MSc Project Management takes a generic approach to project management. It provides the opportunity for you to develop a comprehensive understanding of the role of the project manager and a broad understanding of the management processes and practices involved in the development and operation of projects from inception to completion.

You will develop the knowledge and applicational skills required to manage projects in a wide range of organisations that use projects.

As a BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying student at ARU, you’ll learn how to financially manage construction projects from initial concept, through to design, build and maintenance.

Quantity surveyors play a vital role in deciding whether construction projects are financially viable. And so, through studying our Quantity Surveying degree,, you’ll gain a vital understanding of issues such as value for money, health and safety and the environment – as well as exploring the wider context of the built environment.

Once you’ve graduated, you’ll be able to register with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and start working as a chartered quantity surveyor. You could also choose to develop a specialism or start a career in research with our wide range of full- and part-time postgraduate degrees.

You have the option to study this course as a four-year degree with foundation year. In your first year you'll study with our partner, ARU College, on our Cambridge campus. In Years 2-4 you'll study in Chelmsford or ARU Peterborough.

Our BEng (Hons) Electronics and Robotics is designed to put you at the forefront of today’s engineering world.

Placing an emphasis on Industry 4.0 concepts such as digital tools for engineering, the internet of things (IoT), and systematic, project-based approaches, it’ll equip you with skills and knowledge that are in high demand among employers.

Electronics and robotics engineers are required to think originally and critically; work innovatively, creatively and sustainably; and consider the social, commercial, legal and environmental impacts of their work. You’ll be able to make a positive difference to the lives of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities, and meet the aspirations of their families.

Here, the fields of education, health and social care and local and national government combine, as they must in the real world for the greatest outcomes. Modern midwives do much more than assist with birth. They work closely with other healthcare professionals to support women throughout pregnancy and childbirth.

We’ll help you develop into a competent midwife who’s able to work as a team member or leader. Your time will be divided equally between classroom study and supervised placements.

You’ll learn to assess individual women and to plan, implement and evaluate care that meets the needs of mother, baby and family. As a BSc (Hons) Policing and Criminal Justice student at ARU, you’ll develop your knowledge and skills by studying real-life cases and academic research, and taking part in interactive learning.

Caring for acutely ill adults is a demanding and important role, and we’ll help you develop the skills and expertise to practise effectively and compassionately. You’ll learn how to provide specialist clinical care while at the same time transforming your existing qualification/s into a BSc (Hons) degree.

Choose to study in Cambridge, Chelmsford or Peterborough, alongside other students with a particular interest in this area. It’s a great opportunity to learn from each other. Together, you’ll explore and apply the current policies, laws and procedures that affect the care of acutely ill adults. You’ll deepen your leadership skills, improve your decision-making, and increase your ability to support and develop others in their work. You’ll also develop your ability to work closely with professionals from other disciplines.

When it comes to work placements, you’ll need to be already employed in a suitable acute-care environment. Your manager should agree to offer supervision and mentorship so that your practice can be fully assessed.

At ARU, our Architectural Technology degree course focuses on the link between building design and production. It gives you the technical understanding to bridge the two – and take the lead on major built environment projects.

In our specialist model-making studios and out on site visits, we’ll explore the technology of architecture. You’ll become adept at fine-tuning the design of buildings so that they’re truly usable, liveable and sustainable.
