During the study of Sport at BGU you will gain understanding in the complexities of this subject, including; the development of sport; how performance can be enhanced and how it can be managed and led. This course is designed to develop your knowledge and understanding of the sport, physical education, learning and teaching and education.
Our dynamic Sports courses are designed around three specific areas - Physical Education, Sports Coaching and Sports Development. As your course progresses you can choose to specialise in a particular area, giving you as much freedom as possible to explore your personal interests.

The BA (Hons) Business programme provides a thorough grounding in a range of business subjects including marketing, finance, management, entrepreneurship and leadership, the chance to work with a wide variety of organisations through our links with industry and the opportunity to develop projects and expertise in areas that you are interested in.

This programme equips you for both employment and self-employment and gives you the confidence to succeed in the business world. Modules are contemporary in nature and tackle key issues facing organisations and society head on.

Modules are taught and assessed using a variety of active learning techniques where you are encouraged to take charge of your own learning through engaging with academic knowledge and research, tutors, external organisations, and your peers. Your assignments are developed in conjunction with industry experts and throughout the duration of your programme you will be given live briefs to fulfil for your clients. You will have the opportunity to undertake a work placement and an international field trip (that you will be required to self-fund) in the second year of the programme.

You’ll be researching and interrogating recent issues and looking at conflicting ideas and opinions, as well as being encouraged to hone your coaching, leadership and teaching skills through practical exercises, field trips, laboratory work and placement opportunities. Mathematics is vital in modern society, underpinning our understanding of the sciences, engineering, technology, finance and many other aspects of our everyday lives. Mathematics graduates are in short supply and we aim to provide you with the tools you need to make a real difference in the world and to those around you.
Mathematics at BGU will not only develop your mathematical and practical skills and your understanding of teaching, learning and education; it will also allow you to share your enthusiasm to inspire others. With the support of dedicated and professional staff, you will study numerous aspects of both pure and applied mathematics and, in doing so, gain a good overall appreciation for the subject. We’ll help you to develop a detailed knowledge and deep conceptual understanding of a range of mathematical topics including complex numbers, matrices, algebraic techniques, algorithmic methods, probability and calculus. You’ll also learn how to apply your work to practical situations, using appropriate mathematical tools and technology to aid with real-life problem-solving.

The BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies is a three-year undergraduate programme which introduces students to aspects of education, health and social care, with a specific focus on children from 0 – 8 years of age.

The course offers graduates a range of employability opportunities with module content supporting students in developing a wide range of transferable skills, as well as providing a curriculum which enables students to develop their academic skills.

Students who graduate from the programme will be awarded a full and relevant degree enhancing employability by enabling them to seek roles in early childhood settings as part of the adult: child ratio. Furthermore, students may also choose to work towards an award which embeds graduate practitioner competencies into their study.

This BSc provides an entry point into a number of career paths in the Health and Social Care sectors. It is designed to allow students to pursue and apply knowledge and understanding of health and social care following a systematic approach to evidence based practice. The MA in Children's Literature and Literacies gives you an opportunity to deepen your passion for literature written for children through research-led modules that engage with emerging frameworks and debates. Supported by a team of academic specialists, you will investigate theories of literacy development, and the learning and reading experiences of children and young people through interdisciplinary, inclusive, and current approaches. You will critically explore ‘classic’ texts and contemporary publications across a range of genres, ranging from poetry, picture books and non-fiction to graphic novels and digital applications, aimed at readers from 0-18. You will examine the nature of literacy and literature in a digital age, their current existence and future directions. This MA will foster your academic capabilities and individual interests through conceptual and empirical research.

Throughout your studies you can follow your own interests through optional modules, and choose your own focal points and textual examples for assessment tasks.As an English student at BGU, your engagement with literature won’t stop at the seminar door. The English team are all research-active lecturers who are passionate about the study of literature and its positive impact on the individual and wider society. We actively support a range of organised events and visits to enable a wider participation with literary culture, including visiting speakers, a research seminar series, subsidised film and theatre trips, workshops and celebrations, poetry readings and literary awards.
