You’re looking to forge a career in international business and have a specific interest to gain deeper knowledge in international business disciplines such as international strategy, international marketing or finance or accounting. The MSc in International Business will prepare you for functional or operational roles such as international product manager, project manager, business development manager, account manager or finance/accounting, marketing and strategy roles in any global setting.

This course prepares you to work as an optometrist, making a real difference to the lives of people who suffer from vision impairment and sight loss.

You will learn about vision and the eye, through topics like optics, biology, eye disease and visual impairment. You’ll also learn about therapeutic solutions such as contact lenses and ophthalmic lenses and dispensing.

In your final year, you’ll develop your clinical practice by working in our very own eye clinic, City Sight. You will examine members of the public – from babies to the elderly – presenting with a wide range of ocular conditions and needs.

The Finance with Actuarial Science undergraduate course will equip you with financial risk management and analysis skills that will boost your career prospects in investment management, risk management or actuarial science. Financial engineering or financial analysis careers will also be open to you.

Discover the different aspects of the financial world and in particular how assessing and managing risk is vital for success. To develop the skills you need to understand these ideas, you’ll take a mixture of financial, mathematical, statistical and actuarial modules. In the first year your focus is on building a firm foundation in mathematics, statistics and economics as you begin to develop your understanding of financial risk.

The History and Politics joint degree will appeal to ambitious students interested in developing a deep understanding of politics and political processes rooted in both the past and the present.

Through a selection of modules from the City History and Politics programmes, and core seminars designed exclusively for the joint degree, you will examine key historical and political developments in a range of nations, societies and cultures.

The degree is delivered in strategic partnership with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). By meeting the relevant criteria, BSc Accounting and Finance students can achieve up to eight exemptions from the ICAEW's Chartered Accountant qualification (ACA) and receive similar exemptions from other professional accountancy bodies.
